Store returns are free; postal returns have £2 deducted. Christmas gifts bought from 22 October 2026 get until 31 January 2027 or 60 days from purchase, whichever is later.

How Long Do You Have to Return to Mountain Warehouse?

60 days is Mountain Warehouse’s standard voluntary window; sale goods follow the same rules. Day-counting, cut-off time and the deadline milestone (registration, dispatch or arrival) aren’t published. Register and drop off well before day 60; a label alone isn’t confirmed to preserve eligibility.

Store purchases: 60 days from the purchase date

Store buys get 60 days from purchase.

Which date starts the 60 days for online orders?

The full Returns Policy and Returning an Item terms count from purchase; postal-return help and sale help count from delivery or receipt. The main how-to gives both. The pages word it differently: count from the order date; use the returns portal or Customer Care for an order-specific answer. The portal blocks late registration.

What condition do returns need to be in?

Mountain Warehouse requires unworn, unused goods in original condition and packaging, with tags attached; footwear needs its original shoe box. Trying on is allowed; extended wear isn’t. Return complete sets; no universal manuals-and-accessories checklist is published, so ask before omitting anything.

Unsuitable returns may be refused and sent back at your delivery cost; unusual return patterns may cause account deactivation. Check the seller before choosing a method.

Check the Seller First: Mountain Warehouse or Marketplace

Goods sold and shipped by Mountain Warehouse use its direct routes. Marketplace goods must go to their seller, never stores or the main portal. Find instructions in the parcel, dispatch-email seller link or product’s Delivery and Returns tab; contact Customer Care if missing.

Amazon, eBay, Animal and Debenhams.com orders

Store help accepts Mountain Warehouse-fulfilled Amazon or eBay orders with its dispatch note, and Animal-branded items bought on the Mountain Warehouse website, with its M-prefixed order number and WWW shipment identifiers. Amazon-fulfilled orders, third-party eBay orders and Debenhams.com purchases cannot go to stores. For Debenhams.com, use the Debenhams return policy guide.

How Do You Return an Item to Mountain Warehouse?

Choose a route by seller, purchase channel and parcel size:

Route Who it’s for Cost What to bring or do
Find a store Eligible direct store/online goods Free Purchase proof and payment card if applicable
Returns portal Direct online parcels £2 deducted Order number plus postcode or email
Contact Customer Care Bulky goods Not published Arrange collection
Seller instructions Marketplace goods Seller-specific Follow parcel/email/product instructions

Mountain Warehouse’s How to get in touch page lists a Customer Care phone number (0203 828 7700), a webform, live chat and WhatsApp.

Returning to a Mountain Warehouse store

Take eligible direct goods to any store, free, without a label. Bring a paper or e-receipt and payment card if applicable; online proof includes order confirmation, dispatch note or shipped-order email. Stores can refund all online payment types.

Returning by post through the returns portal

  1. Open the online returns portal. Enter the order number plus delivery postcode or purchase email; guest orders work too.
  2. Select the items and an offered service. Published options include InPost lockers, Evri ParcelShop, collection or locker, DPD ParcelShop and Royal Mail via a Post Office. InPost is printer-free; follow the portal’s instructions for other services.
  3. Pack securely, remove or cross out the old shipping label, and attach the generated label if required. Use the QR code as instructed. Direct returns are paperless. Keep each order in a separate parcel.
  4. Drop off or await collection, and keep proof of postage and tracking; a generated label alone isn’t proof of handover. The prepaid service deducts £2 from the refund.

January 2026 postal help lists ASDA ToYou, but the July 2026 how-to omits it. Current availability is unconfirmed; check the portal.

Tents, camping chairs and other bulky items

The standard portal won’t register bulky goods, including tents and camping chairs. Customer Care arranges collection; its price isn’t published. Obtain a quote rather than assuming £2.

Does Mountain Warehouse Charge for Returns?

Store returns are free; prepaid postal returns deduct £2. Confirmed faulty or incorrect items have no return charge; contact Customer Care first. Mountain Warehouse doesn’t publish the £2 basis (per item, order, return or parcel) or repeat-return charges. Ask before splitting returns. Its return pages don’t list a restocking fee.

Refund help refunds original delivery only when the whole order is returned within 14 days of receipt, or for retailer error; Right to Cancel terms instead allow notice within 14 days, then another 14 days to return, refunding standard delivery. The pages word it differently. To recover delivery, cancel the whole order within 14 days of receiving it and send it back promptly. Return postage remains payable; an expedited delivery upgrade isn’t refunded. Ask Customer Care to confirm the cancellation route.

Example: Assume one eligible £40 direct item, one £2 prepaid-post deduction, purchase proof, no promotion and no delivery refund: the merchandise refund is £38 by post or £40 in store. This doesn’t establish the fee basis.

Can You Return to Mountain Warehouse Without a Receipt?

Sometimes: paper or e-receipts and online order documents are accepted. With other proof such as a bank statement, lost-receipt help offers an exchange or gift card at the current selling price. For monetary refunds, Customer Care reviews proof, amount, date, payment method, last four card digits, store and reason.

Ordinary gifts without a receipt may get an exchange or current-price gift card. No photo-ID alternative or guaranteed proof-free card lookup is published; request review. Christmas gift terms differ.

Bought in store but can’t get to one?

Customer Care can investigate the purchase. Supply the receipt or e-receipt and last four card digits, or purchase date and time, store, amount, item and reason if no receipt. Refunds aren’t guaranteed; don’t post to the warehouse.

Mountain Warehouse Christmas Returns 2026

Christmas gifts bought online or in store from 22 October 2026 can be returned until 31 January 2027 or 60 days from purchase, whichever is later. Saleable condition still applies. Direct online gifts can go to stores with order confirmation or through the warehouse process; the notice doesn’t say the £2 postal deduction is waived.

The notice doesn’t publish the last qualifying purchase date, Marketplace inclusion, required proof of gifting or whether posting or arrival meets the deadline. Confirm eligibility with Customer Care; post well before 31 January 2027 or use a store.

Example: Assume a direct store-bought gift fleece purchased 28 October 2026, unused with tags and receipt: the ordinary window ends in late December; the later deadline is 31 January 2027. A store return avoids the unpublished postal milestone.

Gift receipts, bank statements and gifts without proof

The seasonal notice covers store-bought gifts:

Proof held Outcome Price basis
Receipt Exchange, gift card or full refund Original selling price
Gift receipt Exchange or gift card Original selling price
Valid bank statement, no receipt Exchange, gift card or refund Current selling price
No receipt or valid proof Exchange or gift card Current selling price

These seasonal 2026 terms aren’t year-round promises; processing depends on the route.

When Will You Get Your Mountain Warehouse Refund?

Mountain Warehouse processes store refunds immediately; banks may take 3–5 working days. For post, the main how-to gives within 14 days after warehouse receipt; refund help instead says 14 days from dispatch including transit and bank release, while lost-return help says wait 14–21 working days before enquiring. The pages word it differently: keep tracking; contact Customer Care if unpaid 14 days after warehouse arrival.

Route Clock 1: return window Clock 2: retailer processing Clock 3: bank posting
Direct store Standard 60 days; seasonal extension may apply Immediate 3–5 working days
Direct post Standard 60 days; online start differs Within 14 days of warehouse receipt per main how-to; other wording above 3–5 working days after processing
Marketplace Start within 60 days of receipt Separate processing stage: Not published; 10–14 days combined overall Not published separately

Ordinary direct change-of-mind refunds use the original payment method, with an email confirming processing; Christmas gift returns and some later fault remedies can end in a gift card instead, as explained above. Mixed gift-card payments refund the gift card first, then the other payment method. Discounts and BOGOF offers affect the amount: the refund reflects the promotional value paid.

Marketplace help says allow 10–14 days overall, without defining the start or a universal refund destination; ask the seller about payment routing and contact Customer Care after 14 days if outstanding.

What if your return goes missing?

Mountain Warehouse says direct returns remain your responsibility until received. Keep proof of postage, tracking and a note of the items so Customer Care can investigate with the carrier or warehouse.

Exchanges at Mountain Warehouse

Direct exchanges are in store, subject to stock: bring the item, receipt and original payment card. Postal returns are refunded; reorder the required size or colour. Exchange help counts 60 days from receipt, while store-purchase help counts from purchase: count from purchase and confirm with Customer Care if near the limit.

Exchange fees, free replacement delivery and reorder price protection aren’t published; check before reordering.

What Mountain Warehouse Won’t Take Back

Mountain Warehouse’s voluntary condition rules include these restrictions:

  • Underwear or swimwear: the full policy excludes broken labels or non-intact hygiene seals. Store help lists underwear outright as non-returnable. The pages word it differently: keep seals and labels intact, confirm with Customer Care and expect possible store refusal. Faulty rights remain separate.
  • Opened toothbrush packages and individual set components aren’t eligible for ordinary refunds.
  • Sale goods retain the standard rules; no exhaustive final-sale list or direct-seller personalised-goods policy is published. Ask about eligibility before returning.

Ski packages, accessories packages and sets

If you change your mind, a ski-package refund requires the whole package; a partial return receives a gift card. An individual faulty or not-as-described item is handled separately: contact Customer Care with a description and photos for a replacement, subject to availability, or a refund. Single accessories-package items cannot be returned. Online ski packages cannot be exchanged: buy the replacement separately, contact Customer Care with its new order number for the package-related discount, then return the replaced item.

Gas canisters and gift cards

Gas canisters cannot be returned online: never post one. The full policy directs faulty cases to a store with a receipt for refund or exchange, but also says physical canisters must go to a local disposal site. Contact Customer Care before taking one anywhere; the policy words the handover two ways.

Gift cards generally aren’t returnable, subject to statutory rights. An entirely unspent digital gift card can be cancelled within 14 calendar days after the order day. Buying a card differs from receiving a refund onto one.

Returning Marketplace Items

Marketplace help gives 60 days from receipt to start a return. Completion deadlines vary; confirm required arrival and send early. General help requests unused, resaleable goods with original tags and packaging where possible; Validate and Sundried require original packaging, all tags and original condition. Follow the seller’s stricter instructions.

Exclusions can cover bulky, nutritional, hygiene and safety goods, unsealed underwear or swimwear, and seller-specific items. Check before sending. General Marketplace help offers return-and-reorder, not exchanges, while Sundried’s slip offers size exchanges: confirm exchanges with the seller first.

Are Marketplace returns free?

Costs depend on the seller. Validate charges return postage except for faults or delivery damage. Sundried’s page says free returns, but its linked slip makes only the first return free and deducts £3.95 for later returns from the same order. Assume a second return may cost £3.95 and confirm with Sundried first. The direct £2 fee doesn’t govern Marketplace; faults need assessment too.

For most direct clothing, footwear and accessories, take the faulty item and receipt or order number to a store. For oversized or Marketplace goods or inability to visit, contact Customer Care with proof, photos, applicable MWF care-label number and fault description. Wait for assessment; don’t dispose of anything before approval. After approval, support normally confirms return or disposal requirements.

Faulty or incorrect returns are free when confirmed. An incorrect item differs in product, size, colour or style from the order; poor fit alone isn’t incorrect supply.

Current fault help offers refund or replacement within 30 days of purchase, then replacement, a suitable alternative, or a digital gift card if neither is possible. The older full policy describes original-payment refunds. The pages word it differently: confirm the process with Customer Care.

How long is the Mountain Warehouse guarantee?

Two years for non-Extreme clothing; three for Extreme clothing, bought from 1 August 2024; guarantee terms distinguish product groups:

Product group Bought on/after 1 August 2024 Bought before 1 August 2024
Mountain Warehouse non-Extreme clothing 2 years 12 months
Mountain Warehouse Extreme clothing 3 years 12 months; 3-year Extreme waterproof guarantee
Animal, accessories, footwear including Extreme, hardgoods, other brands 12 months 12 months; Extreme waterproof cover where applicable

Cover excludes accident, misuse, neglect and wear. Reproof waterproofs every six months or when dirty. Guarantee expiry doesn’t itself end statutory rights.

Your rights under UK law

UK cancellation rights for eligible distance purchases allow notice within 14 days after receipt, then 14 days to send goods back. Standard delivery is refundable; disclosed return postage can remain payable. Excess handling may reduce refunds; personalised and unsealed hygiene goods can be exceptions. Where collection isn’t offered, reimbursement is due within 14 days of goods returning or earlier proof of dispatch, using original payment unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, short-term faulty-goods rejection normally runs for 30 days from delivery, subject to ownership or any required set-up. Repair or replacement and qualifying later refunds can follow. Statutory rejection refunds use original payment unless agreed otherwise, within 14 days of agreed entitlement; sellers bear reasonable return costs, apart from a trip back to the collection place, and necessary repair or replacement postage.

GOV.UK confirms no general in-store change-of-mind refund right, unchanged rights for sale goods, and bank statements as possible proof.

Postal deadline milestone, £2 basis, Christmas purchase-end date and Marketplace extension coverage remain unsettled. Ask Customer Care; how we check official policies explains the source-based approach.

Mountain Warehouse Return Policy Mistakes That Cost You Money

  • Paying £2 by post when an eligible free store return suits you.
  • Counting online days from delivery near the deadline: use the earlier order date.
  • Posting store purchases to the warehouse, or Marketplace goods to stores or the main portal: use the correct seller route.
  • Returning one ski-package item after a change of mind and expecting cash rather than a gift card.
  • Discarding a faulty item before Customer Care approves the claim.
  • Combining orders in one parcel: pack separately and keep postage proof.

FAQ

Do I need a paper returns form for a Mountain Warehouse return?

Mountain Warehouse says no form is needed even if your returns form seems to be missing. Register through the portal and use its QR code or label, which contains the return details. Follow the selected carrier’s instructions; Marketplace sellers may supply their own slips for their separate process.

Can I send two Mountain Warehouse orders back in one parcel?

Mountain Warehouse instructs shoppers to keep different orders in separate parcels; combining them can delay the refund. Register each order separately through the portal before packing it for the selected service. The £2 fee basis and repeat-return charging aren’t published, so don’t assume a total charge simply by counting parcels.

What if the returns portal won’t accept my order?

Check the order number and delivery postcode or purchase email against the order confirmation. Guest purchases are supported, but bulky goods cannot use the standard portal and late registrations are blocked. Contact Customer Care for help; don’t assume creating a label elsewhere resolves eligibility or authorises a warehouse return.

Do Blue Light or student discounts change the return rules?

Mountain Warehouse doesn’t publish separate return extensions or fee waivers for Blue Light, Armed Forces, student, Scouting or Caravanning discounts. Use the ordinary seller-specific rules and ask Customer Care if an order shows different terms. Discounts can affect the amount refunded: the retailer uses the promotional value actually paid.

Can I return items bought with a promotion or BOGOF offer?

The Mountain Warehouse return policy allows eligible promotional returns, but discounts and BOGOF offers affect refunds. Don’t expect the undiscounted ticket price back. Keep a set complete for an ordinary refund; ski-package partial returns instead receive a gift card. Check the original offer and purchase proof before choosing what to return.
