Specsavers Returns Policy (UK): 100 Days, Routes and Refunds

The Specsavers returns policy in the UK gives 100 days to raise concerns, starting at collection for glasses, fitting for hearing aids, delivery for online/easycare lenses or ordering for in-store lenses. Specsavers’ purchase terms word it differently: returns within 30 days of receipt, so raise the concern and return the item within 30 days where you can.

Key facts

  • The 100 days start at collection for glasses/sunglasses, fitting for hearing aids, delivery for online/easycare lenses and ordering for in-store lenses. Accessories are excluded.
  • The purchase terms say 30 days from receipt; Specsavers does not reconcile the two windows.
  • Store purchases go to the purchasing store; online prescription glasses can go to any store or an instructed postal address; lenses use Customer Services’ freepost address.
  • Unwanted returns must be unused, complete and in original packaging. Hearing aids must retain their sold condition, packaging and accessories.
  • Terms-based refunds go to the original payment details within 14 days after Specsavers receives the goods. Bank posting time is not published.

This guide covers specsavers.co.uk, UK stores, home visits, online orders and easycare. Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have separate terms. No marketplace-seller return process is published. Browse more UK returns guides for other retailers.

How Long Do You Have to Return Something to Specsavers?

Specsavers’ satisfaction FAQ gives 100 days to raise concerns, rather than an automatic refund entitlement. Its purchase terms, clause 14.3, say returns within 30 days of receipt. Where possible, raise the concern and return within 30 days, especially online orders; after day 30, contact the purchasing store or Customer Service before day 100 for confirmation under the promise.

Specsavers does not publish whether the 100 days are working or calendar days, or which parcel milestone meets either voluntary deadline. Raise concerns early; do not rely on posting on the last day.

When the 100-Day Clock Starts

The table above gives each product’s start event. Two catch shoppers out: hearing-aid clocks start at fitting even on a home visit, and in-store lens clocks start when you order, not when you collect.

Example: Assume you order glasses in store and collect them 10 days later. Collection starts the promise, rather than the order date; an exact final date cannot be calculated from the published counting rules.

Is There a Specsavers Christmas Returns Extension for 2026?

Specsavers had not published a Christmas or holiday returns extension for 2026 as of 28 October 2026. The ordinary promise can carry December collections or deliveries into 2027, but that is not a seasonal extension. Check the returns policy page again in December.

How to Return Something to Specsavers (by Product)

Specsavers’ return route depends on the product and purchase channel.

Glasses and Sunglasses Bought in a Store

Return to the store you bought from, using the official store locator to find its details. Contact that branch first, explain the concern and bring the glasses plus whatever purchase evidence you have. Receipt requirements are not published. A store handover needs no return postage; worn-glasses eligibility is not detailed, so ask the branch before travelling.

Prescription Glasses Ordered Online

Online prescription glasses can go to any Specsavers store or the postal address Customer Service supplies under the purchase terms.

  1. Use the customer service enquiry form to request a returns reference and postal instructions.
  2. Keep the order confirmation and return all components; unwanted goods must be unused and in original packaging.
  3. Confirm postage arrangements before sending: the terms cover return postage but publish no self-service label process.

Specsavers’ purchase terms and its Refunds & Exchanges help page give different customer-service email addresses, so use the official enquiry form for instructions instead.

Contact Lenses by Freepost

Ask Customer Services for the freepost address through the official form. Keep the lenses and packaging while you obtain instructions; unwanted goods must be unused and in original packaging.

Specsavers’ contact-lens postage FAQ says Specsavers pays. Sending elsewhere can delay a refund or replacement. No returns portal or printable label is published; do not buy courier postage assuming reimbursement.

Hearing Aids Under the Money-Back Guarantee

Start with the fitting store. The hearing-aid money-back guarantee permits a trial and runs for 100 days from fitting, including home visits. Keep the sold condition, packaging and accessories intact; customer-caused breakage is excluded.

For a home visit, ask Customer Service how to arrange the return. That route, postage, guarantee refund timing and payment destination are not published.

Can You Return Glasses You Don’t Like?

Specsavers lets you raise dissatisfaction within 100 days of collection and promises to try to resolve it. An automatic refund is not promised, and worn-glasses eligibility is not detailed.

The short returns policy offers a refund or replacement for unwanted goods if unused and in original packaging. Sound shop-bought goods have no general legal change-of-mind refund right. Go back early and bring the case, cloth and anything else supplied with the glasses; Specsavers does not publish a checklist.

For loose or slipping frames, the Specsavers Promise offers free servicing for two years from purchase at a local store, including frame adjustments, tightening screws and replacing nose pads. Home-visit customers: use the contact details Specsavers gave you. Damage repair is excluded; servicing is not a refund route.

If you’re comparing Specsavers with another high-street optician or pharmacy, the Boots return policy guide sets out that retailer’s rules.

Can You Return Opened Contact Lenses to Specsavers?

Specsavers does not promise acceptance of opened contact lenses under its 100-day promise. The short policy requires unused goods in original packaging; the purchase terms allow a reduced refund for partial quantities or use.

Statutory change-of-mind cancellation can end when hygiene-sealed goods are unsealed, but that does not establish that every lens pack falls within the exception. Ask before opening unwanted packs. A genuine fault needs separate treatment, regardless of voluntary condition rules.

Does Specsavers Charge for Returns?

Specsavers pays for contact-lens freepost through its supplied address. Its purchase terms cover return postage and include original delivery in the refund cap. No restocking or per-parcel fee is published, but neither is a universal fee waiver. Premium-delivery refunds under the voluntary terms are not detailed. For an eligible full cancellation of an online order, GOV.UK says standard delivery must be refunded; any premium-delivery extra need not be. Partial-order delivery refunds and geographic limits are not published; confirm these before posting.

The terms allow a collection charge after 35 days from cancellation if goods remain unreturned, and an order-price recharge after 49 days without return or availability. No amount is published.

Can You Return to Specsavers Without a Receipt?

Specsavers does not publish a receipt requirement or a receipt-lookup or alternative-proof procedure for voluntary returns. Its Promise page waives proof only for free glasses/sunglasses servicing, not refunds.

Keep your receipt or order confirmation and check your online order record. For a legal faulty-goods claim, GOV.UK says proof can include other evidence, such as a bank statement. That is not a Specsavers promise to accept a statement for discretionary refunds; ask the store what it needs.

How Long Does a Specsavers Refund Take?

Specsavers’ purchase terms provide a refund or replacement within 14 days after receipt of the goods, with refunds to the original payment details. The terms do not call these working days or promise when your bank will display the credit.

Stage Published timing
Return/cancellation window 100-day concern promise; conflicting 30-day purchase terms; eligible statutory online cancellation: 14 days after receipt
Specsavers processing Terms-based remedy: within 14 days after goods received. Promise, store and hearing-guarantee refunds: Not published
Bank/card posting Not published

Under purchase terms clause 14.4, if an order comes back to Specsavers undelivered, Specsavers emails you to confirm the address. If you do not reply within a reasonable time (at most 30 days after Specsavers gets the parcel back), Specsavers refunds within 14 days of that date.

Legal refund clocks have separate triggers:

Legal route Refund deadline
Eligible online cancellation, no collection offered Without undue delay; within 14 days after return receipt or earlier proof of dispatch
Eligible online cancellation, collection offered Ordinarily within 14 days after cancellation notice
Statutory faulty-goods rejection Without undue delay; within 14 days of agreeing entitlement

For a statutory rejection, money paid is refunded by the same payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, so you do not have to accept store credit.

These rules come from the Consumer Contracts Regulations and Consumer Rights Act. The easycare 7–14-day estimate concerns replacement packs, not refunds.

Refund or Replacement: What Specsavers Offers

Specsavers’ short policy offers a refund or replacement subject to its conditions. Different-frame swaps, price differences, repeat exchanges and exchange fees are not detailed. Ask the store what a replacement involves before agreeing; faulty lenses have a more specific published remedy.

Faulty or Damaged Contact Lenses

Specsavers’ faulty-lens FAQ offers a free replacement or full refund through the contact form, with replacements matching the original quantity and specification. However, Delivery & Returns adds a resalable-condition requirement, while the short policy asks for unused goods in original packaging. Report the fault promptly and keep the lenses, packaging and remaining supply while Customer Service confirms instructions.

Genuine statutory fault remedies do not depend on unused condition or original packaging. For damaged deliveries, easycare also supplies a specific reporting route.

Damaged or Missing easycare Pack Contents

Specsavers says to report damaged or missing contents through My Contact Lenses or the webform in its damaged-pack FAQ. Replacement packs can take 7–14 days depending on lens type. Reporting a delivery problem does not cancel future easycare supplies.

easycare: Cancelling Is Not the Same as Returning

To cancel future easycare supply, the customer-service page directs you to 0345 6048816. Returning an already delivered pack follows the lens-return route above.

The easycare terms say eyecare already provided is not refundable; personal benefits end when membership or prescription eligibility ends.

easycare Replacement Lenses: Two Different Allowances

Specsavers’ detailed easycare benefits allow five daily pairs or two reusable lenses per rolling 12 months, excluding RGP lenses. The summary instead says five daily or monthly reusable lenses. Assume two reusable lenses until your store confirms otherwise. This is a lost/damaged-lens replacement benefit, not a longer return window or cancellation right.

Can You Cancel a Specsavers Online Order?

Specsavers’ pages word lens-order cancellation differently: Delivery & Returns says orders cannot be amended or cancelled once placed; Refunds & Exchanges distinguishes website cancellation from asking Customer Service. Use the customer service form straight away to ask about stopping fulfilment. For eligible online orders, the law lets you cancel from the moment the order is made, before delivery, and any clear statement to Specsavers counts as notice. Asking for a returns reference gets you instructions; it is not a condition of valid notice.

The purchase terms also use both “14 working days” and “fourteen-day” cooling-off wording. For eligible distance orders, the statutory period ends 14 days after the day you receive goods. To be safe, notify Specsavers within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods, then dispatch or hand over within 14 days after notification; warehouse arrival is not the statutory deadline.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, personalised/made-to-specification goods, unsealed hygiene goods and qualifying health-service supplies can be exceptions. Eligibility depends on the transaction, not simply the prescription label. Ask Customer Service for a returns reference and address before sending goods.

What the 100-Day Promise Doesn’t Cover

Specsavers’ Promise conditions exclude:

  • Accessories.
  • Replacement of glasses or hearing devices you break, distinct from manufacturing faults.

Eyecare already provided is non-refundable under easycare’s terms. No blanket prescription/custom-goods return ban is published. Gift-recipient refunds, store credit for discretionary returns and NHS-voucher refund mechanics are not detailed; ask before returning.

Specsavers’ pages do not fully agree, particularly on windows and faulty-lens conditions. The older purchase terms have no published reconciliation to the promise. Specsavers’ pages were checked on 28 October 2026. Where they are silent, this guide cannot confirm a discretionary outcome; your statutory rights are separate.

Faulty Specsavers Items and Your Consumer Rights

Specsavers’ voluntary promise does not replace the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Faulty, misdescribed or unfit goods generally carry a 30-day short-term rejection right, subject to the statutory start conditions; requesting repair can pause that clock. In England, Citizens Advice explains faulty-goods returns.

After that period, repair or replacement may be due, followed by a price reduction or final rejection if the remedy fails. A six-month fault presumption assists qualifying repair/replacement claims. Under the Consumer Rights Act, the trader generally bears reasonable return costs, subject to the in-person return expense exception, and an agreed refund is due within 14 days.

Use or missing packaging alone does not defeat a genuine fault claim. Specsavers’ terms’ 30-day warranty wording does not remove statutory remedies. For eligible online change-of-mind cancellation, shop-like inspection is allowed; excessive handling can justify a value deduction, subject to information requirements. State whether you are reporting a fault or cancelling unwanted goods when contacting Specsavers.

Specsavers Returns Policy Mistakes to Avoid

Avoid these five errors:

  • Counting glasses’ 100 days from ordering: collection starts the promise.
  • Waiting past day 30 on an online return without asking about the conflicting terms.
  • Paying a courier for lenses instead of requesting Customer Services’ freepost address.
  • Taking store-bought glasses to a different branch: return to the purchasing store.
  • Discarding hearing-aid packaging or accessories during the trial.

FAQ

Can I take glasses back to a different Specsavers store?

Specsavers directs satisfaction concerns about store purchases to the purchasing store. Online prescription glasses can go to any Specsavers store or the postal address Customer Service supplies. Use the official store locator to contact the relevant branch before travelling; the online route does not establish universal branch acceptance for store purchases.

Are cases and accessories covered by the 100 days?

Accessories are excluded from Specsavers’ 100-day promise. That does not remove statutory rights for faulty accessories. Specsavers does not publish a case, cloth or tag checklist for ordinary glasses concerns; bring supplied items where possible, but do not confuse that practical advice with the hearing-aid guarantee’s express packaging and accessory conditions.

Does returning glasses restore my easycare discount?

Specsavers does not publish whether returning discounted glasses restores the easycare glasses-discount entitlement. The benefit is available once per rolling 12 months at one store. Ask the store before returning or agreeing to a replacement, so you know whether another pair would qualify and how any price difference would be handled.

What if I cancel online but don’t send the goods back?

Specsavers’ terms allow a collection charge after 35 days from cancellation and an order-price recharge after 49 days without return or availability. For statutory cancellation, send goods back within 14 days of telling Specsavers and keep proof of dispatch, or make them available for collection where Specsavers arranges it.

Can I return or refund a Specsavers gift voucher?

Specsavers’ voucher terms say a voucher cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash, and goods bought with a voucher are refunded to the gift card/eVoucher. Gift-recipient and NHS-voucher refund mechanics remain unpublished. This cash-redemption rule does not settle any statutory purchase-cancellation right; ask Customer Service about your transaction.
