Uniqlo Return Policy: 30 Days, $7 Mail Fee, Exchanges and Refunds
Uniqlo’s US return policy covers direct purchases online, in the app and in US stores. You have 30 days to return new, unworn, unwashed items: online orders count from the shipped date, store purchases from the purchase date. Online returns go by mail for $7 plus applicable tax, deducted from the refund; most cannot be refunded in a store.
Key facts
- Online returns run 30 days from original shipment, not delivery; store purchases run 30 days from purchase.
- Online-paid pickup orders also go to the warehouse. A standard return costs $7 plus tax (one fee for same-account orders combined in one parcel), waived only if inspection confirms a Uniqlo error.
- Pay In-Store orders go back to the store where you paid; store purchases go back to a US store (Ala Moana in Hawaii and mainland stores don’t accept each other’s) or by mail to a participating store.
- Store refunds require an original paper receipt or opted-in e-receipt; without one, the published alternative is a same-item size/color exchange.
- Final-sale, altered, RE.UNIQLO, repaired, UTme! and embroidered items are excluded. Treat underwear and bras as non-returnable; official wording differs below.
According to Uniqlo’s return overview, payment and purchase channel determine the route. For other retailers, browse our US return-policy guides.
Where each Uniqlo purchase goes back
| Purchase type | Where it goes | Cost | How to start | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Online, Home Delivery | Warehouse by mail | $7 + tax deducted | Purchase History or Guest Login | Clock starts at shipment |
| Online-paid Ship to Store/Pick Up Today | Warehouse by mail | $7 + tax deducted | Same online route | Pickup store cannot refund it |
| Pay In-Store order | Store where you paid | No fee listed | Bring receipt | Only the paying store |
| Store purchase | US store | No fee listed | Original receipt/e-receipt | Ala Moana/mainland restriction; never warehouse |
| Store purchase, cannot visit | Nearest participating store by mail | Customer-paid postage | Form + original receipt | Refund only; 2–4 weeks processing |
| Gift with gift receipt | Store | No fee listed | Bring gift receipt | Merchandise credit/gift card or exchange |
Official actions: follow How to Return, open Purchase History or Guest Login, use store mail-in instructions, or ask through Contact Us.
How Long Do You Have to Return Something to Uniqlo?
Uniqlo allows 30 days: online purchases from the original shipped date, store purchases from purchase. The online policy gives its own example: shipped April 1, last return day April 30; the store policy uses purchase date.
Uniqlo does not say whether the 30 days are calendar or business days, give a cutoff time or time zone, or say whether starting the return, drop-off or warehouse arrival must happen by day 30. Drop the parcel off a few days early and keep the carrier receipt. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico returns may take longer, without a published extra allowance.
Does the Uniqlo clock start at shipping or delivery?
Uniqlo’s online clock starts at shipping. Delivery does not restart it.
Example: Assume an order ships Wednesday and arrives the following Monday. The clock started Wednesday, so five of your 30 days are gone before you open the box.
Is there a Uniqlo holiday return extension for 2026?
Uniqlo’s US policy and help pages had no published 2026 holiday extension at the record’s verification date; see the dated sources below. No qualifying purchase range or January deadline is established, but an extension could be announced later.
Check the return overview before relying on extra time. The refund page’s Christmas/New Year delay warning concerns processing, not an extended window.
Uniqlo Return Routes by How You Paid
Uniqlo routes online-paid orders to its warehouse, Pay In-Store orders to the paying store, and store purchases through its store network. The online policy makes payment channel decisive, even when collection happens in a store.
Online orders, including Ship to Store and Pick Up Today
Uniqlo orders paid online by card, Klarna, PayPal or Apple Pay go back by mail to the warehouse using its label/QR process. Start with the account or guest order details. A pickup location cannot refund an online-paid order simply because you collected it there.
Pay In-Store orders
Uniqlo online orders paid using Pay In-Store must return to the store where payment was completed. Bring the receipt. Do not treat this payment option as an ordinary online-paid warehouse return.
Store purchases and the Ala Moana exception
Uniqlo store purchases can normally return at US stores with the original receipt or e-receipt; never send them to the online warehouse. The overview excludes cross-handling between Ala Moana, Hawaii, and mainland stores for returns, exchanges and price adjustments in either direction.
Outside-US purchases are excluded from US returns. For a British purchase, consult the Uniqlo UK return policy.
How to Return a Uniqlo Online Order by Mail
The process below summarizes Uniqlo’s public return instructions. A printer is unnecessary when using a QR code at a participating FedEx location.
- Open Purchase History or Guest Login. Use Purchase History for account orders or Guest Login for guest orders.
- Select the order, items and reason. Check that every item being sent is included.
- Submit and choose a label or QR code. Keep the chosen return instructions available; QR drop-off requires a participating location.
- Pack all required components. Include the product packaging, tags and every original accessory. Ask about detached tags as explained below.
- Drop off using the designated carrier. Online returns use FedEx; Puerto Rico customers are directed to USPS. Use the carrier named on your label.
Keep the drop-off receipt and tracking number. If you chose the wrong items, cancel the return in Purchase History, resubmit before shipping, and use only the newest label. Uniqlo distinguishes a warehouse-receipt email from the later refund-issued email. Follow the instructions displayed for your order in Purchase History or Guest Login.
Returning several Uniqlo orders in one parcel
Uniqlo’s overview permits combining orders from the same account: generate each order’s label, place one outside the parcel and the others inside. Only one $7 fee plus applicable tax applies. Different accounts cannot combine.
Uniqlo’s refund-calculation page warns that mixed-order parcels can delay processing or cause an incorrect refund, and refunds can arrive as separate transactions. Keep each order’s label and item list and check every refund against them before contacting Uniqlo about a shortfall.
Example: Assume two eligible same-account orders, no Uniqlo error and no tax. One combined parcel costs $7 in label fees; separate parcels cost $7 + $7 = $14.
Returning a Uniqlo Store Purchase When You Cannot Visit a Store
Uniqlo’s store mail-in instructions provide a participating-store route. The store mail-in form Uniqlo links from its help page supplies the refund and processing terms.
- Complete the Customer Return Form; its reasons include Defective Item.
- Enclose the original receipt with the goods.
- Send to the nearest participating store listed in the instructions, paying postage yourself. Disney Springs accepts FedEx or UPS, not USPS.
The linked form specifies a refund to the purchasing credit card, or store credit for cash purchases, with 2–4 weeks processing after receipt. Separate bank posting time is not published. Exchanges require a store visit; this mail route processes refunds only.
How Much Does a Uniqlo Return Cost?
Uniqlo deducts $7 plus applicable tax for a standard online prepaid-label or QR return. Its online FAQ waives the fee only when inspection confirms a Uniqlo error; selecting a defect reason alone does not guarantee it.
| Cost | Published rule |
|---|---|
| Online label/QR | $7 + tax deducted |
| Combined same-account parcel | One $7 fee + tax |
| Confirmed Uniqlo error | Return fee waived after inspection |
| Original shipping | Non-refundable for change-of-mind returns |
| Mail-to-store | Customer pays postage |
| Online exchange return leg | $7 + tax; new order ships free |
| Restocking/in-person fees | None listed by Uniqlo |
The refund-calculation page lists original shipping as non-refundable. Original-delivery reimbursement when Uniqlo is at fault is unpublished; ask before assuming it. A partial return below the free-shipping threshold does not trigger a new shipping charge.
Example: Assume an eligible $40 item, one label, no discount or Uniqlo error, ignoring tax and other charges: $40 − $7 = $33.
Readers comparing fashion mail-return costs can consult the Zara US return policy.
How coupons and multibuy offers change your Uniqlo refund
Uniqlo allocates coupon discounts proportionally across items and does not refund or reissue the coupon. Multibuy refunds use the discounted price, with the discount prorated across offer items.
Example: Assume a $100 order with a $10 coupon, returning a $40 item by mail with no other deductions, ignoring tax. Its coupon share is $4; the merchandise refund is $36, or $29 after the $7 label.
What Condition Must Uniqlo Returns Be In?
Uniqlo requires new, unworn, unwashed, unaltered goods with product packaging and original accessories. The online policy excludes shopper-caused soil/damage and missing or damaged accessories. Opening ordinary packaging alone does not disqualify complete goods; underwear has separate rules.
Can you return Uniqlo items with the tags removed?
Keep tags attached: the online policy requires that, while the online FAQ accepts a removed tag if all accessories remain intact. The pages word it differently. Leave tags attached until certain; if already detached, keep them with every accessory and ask Live Chat before sending.
What Uniqlo Won’t Take Back
Uniqlo’s overview and online policy exclude:
- Items marked final sale; a discount alone is not stated to make an item final sale.
- Hemmed or altered goods; alteration fees are non-refundable.
- RE.UNIQLO used clothing and items subjected to repair services.
- UTme! custom prints and embroidered items.
- Products purchased outside the US.
- Underwear and bras, subject to the wording difference below.
Can you return underwear and bras to Uniqlo?
Treat underwear and bras as non-returnable: the overview excludes both outright, while the store policy prohibits undergarment returns once removed from packaging. The pages word it differently. Keep packaging unopened and ask the store before buying if returnability matters; unopened store-bought eligibility is not promised.
Returning to Uniqlo Without a Receipt
Uniqlo store refunds require the original paper receipt or e-receipt; Pay In-Store returns need a receipt too. E-receipts count only when chosen at checkout. Members who scanned membership can find theirs under Purchase History → Store Purchases.
Uniqlo cannot create an e-receipt afterward or resend a deleted email. Check spam and the app, then Live Chat if an opted-in receipt is missing. Uniqlo’s current return pages describe no card, ID or bank-statement lookup and no no-receipt store credit.
Without the original receipt, the store instructions allow an in-store exchange for the same item in another size/color; final sale remains excluded. Online mail returns use account/guest order details rather than requiring a paper store receipt.
Returning a Uniqlo gift
Uniqlo’s gift policy gives gift-receipt returns merchandise credit/gift card, or an in-store exchange for another size/color or another item. Online gift refunds go to the sender’s card. The sender can request an online exchange; a recipient can exchange the same product’s size/color in store with the invoice/order confirmation. Ordinary exchanges have narrower choices.
Uniqlo Exchanges: Online, in Store and the Final-Sale Catch
Uniqlo’s ordinary exchanges cover the same product in another size/color. Online and store routes have different payment requirements and consequences.
How a Uniqlo online exchange works
Uniqlo processes an online exchange through Purchase History as a return plus a newly paid order, credit card only. The return leg costs $7 plus tax; shipping on the new order is free. Check the new charge before proceeding rather than assuming an even swap.
Can you exchange an online Uniqlo order in a store?
Yes: Uniqlo permits same-product size/color exchanges, subject to stock, with the Purchase History invoice and original packaging/tags/labels. The overview says the exchanged item becomes final sale and cannot be returned.
The online policy counts 30 days from shipment, while the store policy’s same-item exchange rule, also applying to online orders, counts from purchase. The pages word it differently: use the earlier order/purchase date and confirm at the store. Store-purchase exchanges require a visit.
When Will You Get Your Uniqlo Refund?
Uniqlo publishes differing online processing estimates, so no single arrival date is promised. Separate the return window, transit, retailer processing and provider posting.
| Stage | Online mail | Store | Mail-to-store |
|---|---|---|---|
| Return window | 30 days from shipment | 30 days from purchase | 30 days from purchase |
| Transit | Up to 7 days, per the overview, depending on origin and FedEx volume; AK/HI/PR may take longer | Not applicable | Not published |
| Uniqlo processing | Four estimates below | At counter; separate timing not published | 2–4 weeks after receipt |
| Provider posting | Method table below | Usually 3–5 business days | Not published |
The overview gives 2–7 business days for processing; other pages word it differently:
| Official page | Warehouse processing estimate |
|---|---|
| How to Return | 7–10 business days after arrival |
| Refund page | 5–7 calendar days after arrival/inspection |
| Return Status | Up to 14 business days after delivery |
Uniqlo’s refund page says to contact it if a return delivered to the warehouse more than seven calendar days ago hasn’t been processed; the overview says seven business days. Use the earlier one: contact Live Chat with your order number and return tracking number. Contacting doesn’t guarantee faster processing.
The refund-issued email, rather than the receipt email, signals processing completion.
The refund page’s payment table gives these posting times:
| Original payment | Posting after refund confirmation |
|---|---|
| Card | 3–5 business days |
| PayPal | Within 24 hours |
| Klarna | 5–7 business days |
The same refund page also gives a general 3–7 business days; Return Status says 3–5. The pages word it differently: allow up to seven business days after the refund-issued email before contacting your bank/provider, using that email to establish the start.
For store refunds missing after five business days, contact Live Chat with purchase and refund receipts. Christmas/New Year peaks may slow processing. Do not add these stages into a guaranteed total.
Where does a Uniqlo refund go?
Uniqlo refunds cards, PayPal and Klarna to the original card/account; store refunds normally use original payment. Exceptions include mail-to-store cash purchases receiving store credit, gift-receipt credit and online gifts refunding the sender. Gift-card-paid, split-payment and Apple Pay allocation/posting details are unpublished: ask Live Chat.
Damaged, Defective or Wrong Uniqlo Orders
Uniqlo directs defective-on-arrival online goods through returns with Damaged/Defective selected; retain original condition. The fee waiver depends on inspection finding a Uniqlo error.
For damaged deliveries, contact Live Chat with order number and a package photo. For wrong/missing items, supply the order number and received/expected product IDs. The store mail-in form includes Defective Item.
Uniqlo publishes no fault-specific extended deadline, worn-defect acceptance, guaranteed replacement or original-delivery reimbursement rule. Uniqlo’s return exclusions are not a full statement of your legal rights. The FTC Cooling-Off Rule excludes online and permanent-store purchases; the FTC recommends contacting the seller first with purchase documents, the remedy sought and saved correspondence.
Return Policy Uniqlo Shoppers Misread: 6 Costly Mistakes
- Counting from delivery: count 30 days from the shipped date.
- Returning online-paid pickups to stores: mail them to the warehouse.
- Paying for separate same-account parcels: combine eligible orders with each order’s label.
- Expecting refunds after in-store exchanges: confirm fit before accepting the final-sale item.
- Removing tags or opening underwear: keep tags attached and packaging unopened while deciding.
- Losing paper proof after skipping e-receipts: choose an e-receipt at checkout and save it.
Uniqlo’s help pages word five rules differently: tags, underwear, warehouse processing, refund posting and the in-store exchange clock. In each case, follow the stricter reading and the instructions shown for your order. Follow order-specific instructions and ask Uniqlo about uncertain eligibility; see how we check retailer policies.
FAQ
Can I cancel a Uniqlo order instead of returning it?
Possibly: Uniqlo’s cancellation help allows cancellation within 30 minutes if a Cancel button shows. Partial cancellations and already-paid Pay In-Store orders are excluded. Exchange requests have their own 30-minute cancellation limit after application. Check Purchase History immediately; cancellation is not guaranteed, even within the stated window.
Can I return a Uniqlo order shipped to Guam or a military base?
Eligible returns remain accepted under Uniqlo’s destination notice. New orders and exchanges stopped January 14, 2026, for Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa and US military bases outside the contiguous United States. Follow the return instructions for your existing order; continued return acceptance does not restore exchange service.
Can I return Uniqlo items bought from another seller or country?
Uniqlo excludes outside-US purchases from its US return channels. These rules cover purchases directly from Uniqlo US; no reseller return procedure is published. For a third-party purchase, ask that seller about its own policy rather than assuming Uniqlo’s 30-day window or warehouse label applies.
Can I return a Uniqlo gift card?
Uniqlo’s reviewed return pages publish no rule establishing whether a purchased gift card can be returned. Ask Live Chat about the specific purchase before relying on a refund. This differs from eligible gift-receipt merchandise returns, which can receive merchandise credit or a gift card.
Do Uniqlo members get longer returns or free return shipping?
Uniqlo publishes no membership-tier extension or label-fee waiver in its member/account guidance. Plan around the standard window and $7 plus applicable tax for an ordinary online return. Membership-linked e-receipts can help document store purchases, but only if an e-receipt was chosen at checkout.
Can Uniqlo refuse returns or restrict my account?
Uniqlo’s website/app terms allow refusing or restricting future transactions, limiting purchases or terminating accounts for unreasonable return patterns. No numerical threshold is published. The Uniqlo return policy therefore gives no guaranteed number of accepted returns; ask customer service about a specific restriction rather than assuming an allowance.
