Uniqlo Return Policy (UK): 30 Days, the £2.95 Fee and Refunds

The Uniqlo return policy in the UK gives 30 days to return unused, unwashed items with tags: from purchase for store buys, or from receipt for online orders. Online-paid orders get refunds by post, with £2.95 deducted per parcel sent through UNIQLO’s Royal Mail service. UK stores exchange these but do not refund them.

Key facts

  • Store purchases have 30 days from purchase; online purchases have 30 days from receipt, with the due date in Purchase History.
  • Royal Mail returns use a label or printer-free QR code at a ParcelShop, not a locker; £2.95 per parcel is waived for UNIQLO errors and approved faults.
  • Store purchases return to UK stores; online-paid purchases can only be exchanged there.
  • Items need their packaging, tags and accessories; a detached tag is acceptable if retained.
  • Refunds return to the original payment method; warehouse processing takes up to 14 calendar days (longer over Christmas/New Year), followed by payment-provider posting time.

This guide covers direct UNIQLO UK website and UK store purchases, not resellers. Bought on the US site? Use the US Uniqlo return policy. Browse more UK store return guides for other retailers.

How Long Is the Uniqlo Return Window?

UNIQLO allows 30 days for eligible ordinary returns. Store purchases count from purchase; online purchases count from receiving the product, according to its online returns FAQ.

Store purchases vs online orders: when the 30 days start

Purchase Start event
Bought in a UK store Purchase date
Ordered online Receipt; receipt or collection for store exchanges

UNIQLO does not define calendar versus business days, day-one counting or a time-of-day cut-off for this voluntary window. Use the online order’s displayed due date rather than counting from order or dispatch. The Return button disappears after that deadline, and late store returns can be rejected.

What counts as “on time” for a posted return?

UNIQLO’s postal instructions do not specify whether creating the request, dispatch, a Royal Mail scan or warehouse arrival must happen by day 30. Create the return and get the parcel scanned several days before the displayed due date; keep proof of postage. Statutory cancellation has a separate dispatch rule, explained below; do not apply it to the voluntary window or assume a seasonal extension.

Is there a Uniqlo Christmas return extension for 2026?

No verified UK 2026 extension, eligible purchase dates or seasonal exclusions appear in the UK policy sources. Overseas dates and last season’s notices do not establish a UK extension. Plan early gift purchases around the ordinary 30 days; a gift receipt allows exchange only.

Where Can You Return a Uniqlo Order?

UNIQLO store purchases go to any UK store and cannot ordinarily return by post. Online-paid orders, including Click & Collect and Pick Up Today, require postal refunds; UK stores offer exchanges instead. The store policy and channel overview distinguish these routes.

Use the UK store locator before travelling. To compare how another fashion chain treats online orders in store, see the Zara UK return policy.

Pay in Store orders: two pages give different store rules

UNIQLO’s overview permits Pay in Store refunds at any UK store, while its refund help specifies the store where you paid. Visit the payment store, or contact UNIQLO to confirm another location before travelling. These instructions concern online orders paid in store, rather than online-paid collection orders.

Click & Collect and Pick Up Today orders

UNIQLO treats these as online purchases when paid online: collecting from a store does not make the purchase refundable there. A store exchange has 30 days from receipt or collection under the online policy. For money back, follow the postal process.

How to Return a Uniqlo Online Order by Royal Mail

UNIQLO’s online return instructions give four actions. Start in Purchase History, and keep your online invoice available.

If the order hasn’t shipped, you may not need a return at all: UNIQLO lets you cancel the whole order within 30 minutes in Purchase History while its status shows Incomplete, then check for Cancelled status and a confirmation email. This is an account feature, separate from your statutory right to cancel.

  1. Select the items and reason. Open the order and create the return request. Check that the selected products match what you are sending; do not select an ordinary fit reason for a faulty item—use the fault route below.
  2. Get a label or QR code. Choose the Royal Mail label or printer-free QR option. Print the label and attach it securely to the outside of the parcel, or show the QR code at a ParcelShop that prints labels.
  3. Pack securely. Keep different orders in separate parcels with separate requests. Check each parcel against its request; combining orders can delay or distort refunds.
  4. Drop off and retain proof. Use a Royal Mail ParcelShop and obtain a scan or proof of postage. Check that you have evidence of handover; lockers are excluded.

Lost your label, or need to cancel a return request?

UNIQLO’s return instructions say to use Print Label / View QR Code in Purchase History, check junk mail and allow up to 24 hours for the email. If you cannot retrieve it, cancel and recreate the request. To cancel, its online FAQ gives Purchase History → Return → History → Cancel Return Application → Confirm Cancellation. Cancellation invalidates the label or QR code, so create a new request if you still want to return.

Guest orders and orders missing from Purchase History

UNIQLO’s return instructions say guest orders require the Guest ID in the order-confirmation email. Log out of any member account first and use the UK website. Creating a member account later does not move an earlier guest order into it. Recover that order before attempting a postal request.

Can you use your own courier instead?

Yes. UNIQLO’s own-courier help describes self-paid postage instead of its £2.95 service. Include your name, order number and SKU product codes, retain proof of postage and send to:

UNIQLO/Arvato, Plot 10A Faraday Avenue, Hams Hall Distribution Park, Birmingham B46 1AL, UK.

The main policy’s postal wording says to register the return, but the dedicated courier help says not to register. The two pages word this differently, and the fee consequence differs too: the courier help warns that registering the return itself triggers the £2.95 charge, while the Royal Mail instructions tie the charge to parcels received. Ask UNIQLO in writing which instruction applies before you post with your own courier, and keep that reply with your proof of postage.

Does UNIQLO Charge for Returns?

UNIQLO deducts £2.95 per used label/QR parcel, not per item, from ordinary online refunds. Its postal instructions attach the charge to parcels received: on UNIQLO’s Royal Mail service, recreating an unused label alone does not incur another fee. UNIQLO errors and approved faulty claims are exempt.

UNIQLO does not publish a fee for store returns, additional restocking charges or admin fees. Its refund help excludes original delivery and gift-wrapping charges from ordinary voluntary refunds; accepted defects have delivery and return costs refunded. Statutory cancellation differs below.

Example: Assume two eligible items from one order cost £24.90 and £19.90, with no coupon, multibuy or delivery refund. One parcel gives £44.80 − £2.95 = £41.85. Two separately charged parcels give £44.80 − £5.90 = £38.90. Keep orders separate, but avoid unnecessarily splitting one order.

To compare another UK fashion chain’s postal-return charges, see the Next UK return policy.

How coupons and multibuy offers change your refund

UNIQLO’s refund calculation help allocates online coupons proportionally across items; coupon value is neither refunded nor reissued. Multibuy refunds use each item’s allocated discounted price. The store-purchase help separately adds a minimum-spend condition to coupon deductions; do not assume online allocation explains a store receipt.

Example: Assume a £50 item and a £30 item, an £8 online coupon, no other offer and one label parcel. The £50 item’s discount share is £5, so returning it gives £45 − £2.95 = £42.05. Eligibility still depends on the item’s condition.

What Condition Do Uniqlo Returns Need to Be In?

UNIQLO requires unused, unwashed, undamaged items with original product packaging, tags, labels and accessories. Its tag guidance accepts a detached tag if retained with intact accessories; opened packaging alone is not an automatic refusal.

Keep the tag with the garment: a detached tag is accepted, but a missing or damaged one is not covered by that allowance.

Items Uniqlo Won’t Take Back

UNIQLO’s store policy excludes these from voluntary returns:

  • Innerwear, underwear and socks.
  • Personalised or altered goods, including UTme and RE.UNIQLO; alterations such as hemming fall within altered goods.
  • Gift cards, according to the store policy. UNIQLO’s UK terms separately let you cancel a gift card bought on the website within the returns period through customer service, so contact UNIQLO if that applies.

UNIQLO does not publish a separate UK sale/final-sale rule or distinct product rulings for swimwear, HEATTECH or AIRism. Check the actual category, particularly innerwear. Faulty goods retain legal remedies, discussed below.

Can You Return to Uniqlo Without a Receipt?

No, not for ordinary store returns. UNIQLO requires a paper receipt or e-receipt; a Purchase History product list is insufficient. The store-purchase help offers staff assistance if you selected an e-receipt but cannot find it.

UNIQLO publishes no ID-only, card-lookup or store-credit fallback for ordinary no-receipt returns. Online invoices are available in Purchase History. Faulty store goods are different: faulty-item help accepts other purchase proof, including a bank transaction.

Gift receipts and gift-card purchases

UNIQLO’s store policy permits exchange with a gift receipt; a refund requires the original sales receipt. For goods paid for with a gift card, retain both the original gift card and sales receipt. That concerns the payment method, not returning a gift card itself; refunds follow the original payment method.

Uniqlo Refunds: How Long Do They Take?

UNIQLO processes voluntary online returns within 14 calendar days of warehouse receipt (longer over Christmas/New Year), then sends confirmation. Payment posting follows separately, according to its refund timetable; refunds go to the original payment method.

Stage Published timing
Ordinary return window 30 days from store purchase or online receipt
Transit to warehouse Total not published; UNIQLO estimates two business days from the Royal Mail hub to its warehouse
UNIQLO processing Within 14 calendar days after warehouse receipt; may take longer over Christmas/New Year
Online card, Apple Pay or Klarna posting Table: 3–5 business days after confirmation; same page’s FAQs: 3–7
Online PayPal posting Table: 48 hours after confirmation; generic FAQ range is wider
Store cash refund Immediate after processing
Store card/Apple Pay posting 3–5 business days; bank-dependent

UNIQLO’s payment table and FAQs word bank timing differently. Allow up to seven business days after confirmation before chasing; do not add a guessed transit time to promise an overall deadline. For accepted defects, the main policy instead specifies processing within 14 calendar days after the email confirming entitlement—not 14 days to decide the claim.

Why “delivered” tracking doesn’t mean your refund has started

UNIQLO’s tracking explanation says a Royal Mail delivery scan can mean the carrier hub rather than the returns warehouse. The processing clock starts at warehouse receipt. Watch for the processing email. If your parcel has been at the warehouse for more than 14 calendar days without one, contact UNIQLO with your order and tracking numbers. A store exchange avoids postal processing but changes your refund options.

Exchanging Uniqlo Items in Store

UNIQLO offers no postal exchanges: use a UK store, subject to stock, or return and reorder online. Its exchange help says online stock cannot be transferred into stores. Bring the original invoice or receipt.

For store purchases, the store instructions allow same- or higher-value products with any difference paid; a lower-value choice means a refund. For online purchases, the overview and exchange FAQ describe size/colour swaps, while the same exchange article’s Important Notes permit any same- or higher-value product with a top-up. Expect a size/colour exchange; confirm a different product first. A lower-value switch requires return and refund.

Store exchange itself has no fee.

Can you still get a refund after an exchange?

UNIQLO’s online policy says an exchanged online purchase cannot subsequently receive a voluntary refund; faulty-item rights remain. Exchanging solely to avoid £2.95 therefore sacrifices the ordinary refund option. If the problem is a fault, use the assessment route instead.

Faulty Uniqlo Items: Online, In Store and After 30 Days

UNIQLO’s faulty-item help separates three routes:

  • Online, within 30 days: Open Purchase History, choose the item and select “Item was faulty”. Advance contact is unnecessary. This service provides refunds rather than replacements or exchanges.
  • Store purchase: Take the item to a nearby UK store for physical assessment. Bring a receipt or other purchase proof, such as a bank transaction.
  • Beyond 30 days, or a store visit is impractical: Use Product Support. Supply photos of the whole item, fault, care label and receipt, plus an explanation of how you cared for it.

Approved faulty claims have the service fee waived, and accepted defective-product refunds include original delivery and return costs. For a wrong item, UNIQLO confirms an error-fee waiver, but a precise workflow is not published in the accessible guidance: contact UNIQLO before selecting a route.

UNIQLO’s voluntary window differs from statutory rights. GOV.UK’s returns guidance says in-person change-of-mind refunds are not legally required; UNIQLO’s policy adds that option. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are relevant frameworks; the legal summary here relies on GOV.UK, rather than a direct review of statute text.

For eligible distance purchases, notify cancellation within 14 days of receipt, then return within a further 14 days. UNIQLO’s cancellation section expressly accepts dispatch within 14 calendar days of notification. That dispatch rule does not settle its voluntary 30-day deadline. To cancel, use the contact form topic ‘RETURNS – I wish to cancel my contract’.

GOV.UK says cancellation refunds include standard outbound delivery, exclude any premium supplement and are due within 14 days of goods arriving back; UNIQLO’s cancellation section says 14 days from receipt or from earlier proof that you sent them back, whichever comes first, so keep your proof of postage. UNIQLO assigns return postage to the customer; this is a return cost, not a statutory cancellation penalty.

Shop-style inspection is allowed; personalised goods and opened sealed hygiene goods may be excluded. UNIQLO’s cancellation wording lists innerwear, underwear and swimwear without a seal condition; GOV.UK describes unsealed hygiene goods. Do not assume unopened innerwear automatically loses cancellation rights: ask UNIQLO or Citizens Advice about the specific item.

Faulty or misdescribed goods retain remedies beyond 30 days, including sale goods; later faults may involve repair or replacement. This guide interprets published pages, not your order. Check your displayed due date and seek UNIQLO’s written answer where wording differs; legal rights still apply. Read how we check retailer policies for the source-based approach.

Can UNIQLO restrict your account for returning too much?

Yes. UNIQLO’s terms reserve account or site restrictions for unusually frequent or high returns. No numeric threshold is published, and statutory rights remain. Do not infer a safe number of returns.

Uniqlo Return Policy Mistakes That Cost You Money

The Uniqlo return policy requires attention to channel, condition and timing:

  • Splitting one order doubles the parcel fee to £5.90.
  • Counting from order or dispatch misses the receipt-based start.
  • Taking an online-paid purchase to a store cannot obtain a refund.
  • Discarding a detached tag removes an accepted accessory.
  • Exchanging an online item ends its voluntary refund option.
  • Expecting ordinary delivery/gift-wrap reimbursement overstates the refund.

Use the return instructions and refund help to check those details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return Uniqlo HEATTECH or AIRism items?

UNIQLO publishes no product-specific HEATTECH or AIRism ruling in its exclusions. Innerwear, underwear and socks are excluded from ordinary returns, so check the actual item category rather than relying on its fabric range name. Faulty-item rights are separate; retain purchase evidence and use the assessment route where appropriate.

Do Uniqlo members get longer to return or free returns?

UNIQLO publishes no membership-specific extended window or return-fee waiver in its online FAQ. An account alone does not establish either benefit: plan around the ordinary 30 days and £2.95 service fee per used label parcel. Eligible items must still meet the condition requirements; approved faults and UNIQLO errors have separate fee exemptions.

Can I return several Uniqlo orders in one parcel?

No. UNIQLO’s postal instructions require separate parcels and requests for different orders. Combining them can delay or distort the refund, so do not consolidate orders to save postage. Each used Royal Mail label/QR parcel costs £2.95 on an ordinary return, even when you send the parcels together.

Are Uniqlo sale items returnable?

UNIQLO publishes no separate UK sale or final-sale rule in its store policy. Check the ordinary window, condition rules and product exclusions rather than assuming all discounted goods qualify or are excluded. Sale goods retain statutory rights for faults or misdescription, as GOV.UK explains; discounts do not remove those protections.

Will Uniqlo collect a return from my home?

UNIQLO does not publish a home-pickup option in its return instructions. The documented Royal Mail service requires ParcelShop drop-off, with a label or printer-free QR code; lockers are excluded. If you can’t reach a ParcelShop, the own-courier route lets you choose your own carrier at your own cost; keep proof of postage.

Can I return a Uniqlo item bought from another seller?

The Uniqlo return policy covers goods bought directly from UNIQLO UK. Its online policy does not publish a marketplace or third-party seller return scheme. For a reseller purchase, check that seller’s terms and contact the seller; do not assume UNIQLO’s 30-day window or postal service applies to your transaction.
