Nike Return Policy UK: 30 Days, Exchanges, Refunds and Faults
The Nike return policy for the UK gives members and guests 30 days to return most unworn, unwashed items with tags attached and proof of purchase, counted from delivery for online orders or from the purchase date in a Nike shop. Postal returns use a free prepaid label or code; shop purchases go back to the original shop.
Nike UK: key facts
- Members and guests get the same 30 days; membership adds order-history proof, not extra time.
- Nike pre-orders, SNKRS Reserve and Apple Watch accessories have 14 days. Nike By You and Jersey By You cannot be returned for change of mind.
- Postal returns refund the original delivery fee in full or in proportion (expect the standard-delivery portion); Nike shops cannot refund delivery fees.
- Nike says refunds can take up to 14 days after it receives the items; if you paid with a Nike gift card, the refund should be available within 24 hours of processing.
- These rules cover direct purchases through Nike.com, Nike App, SNKRS and UK Nike shops. Purchases from other retailers follow their policies.
Nike’s Terms of Sale name NIKE RETAIL UK as the UK online seller. For purchases elsewhere, browse more UK store return guides.

How Long Is Nike’s UK Return Window?
Nike gives members and guests 30 days for most eligible items, starting at online delivery or shop purchase. For several goods in one order delivered separately, the Terms of Sale count from the last delivery.
Nike does not specify calendar versus working days or a time-of-day cut-off for the ordinary 30 days. Act a few days early. Some guides quote a longer US-style window; see the separate US Nike return guide for that market.
What Does “Within 30 Days” Mean for a Nike Online Return?
Nike’s Terms, section 7.2, say to inform Nike within 30 days of delivery. Nike describes the total as the statutory 14-day cancellation period plus 16 contractual days.
Nike does not publish whether dispatch, a carrier scan or warehouse arrival must follow by a particular deadline under that extra contractual period, or when a return code expires. Start the return and post promptly, ideally the same week. Do not automatically add another 14 days to day 30.
Which Nike Items Have Only 14 Days?
Nike pre-orders and SNKRS Reserve orders have 14 days from delivery; Apple Watch accessories have 14 days from delivery or shop purchase. The exceptions page does not apply the Reserve rule to every SNKRS purchase.
Unused Nike gift cards can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase by contacting Nike with the card number.
Is There a Nike Christmas Return Extension for 2026?
Nike had published no Christmas 2026 return extension on its UK pages as of 28 October 2026. Use the standard window unless Nike publishes an applicable offer; do not rely on another season’s dates. StoreReturners rechecks Nike’s seasonal pages before Black Friday.
Can You Return Nike Trainers After Wearing Them?
Nike allows shop-style trying on, rather than an outdoor run or workout trial. The 30-day offer requires unworn, unwashed items with tags attached and proof; return the complete product, including both shoes.
Excess handling can lead to a diminished-value deduction. Nike’s Terms also allow rejection of out-of-time or legally excluded returns and sending them back at the customer’s expense.
Nike does not publish a universal shoe-box rule. Return the complete pair in its original box if available. A pair you have already run in is no longer a change-of-mind return; if it develops a defect, use the warranty or legal-rights routes in the faulty-items section below.
How to Return a Nike Order
Nike’s return instructions provide postal and eligible-shop routes for online orders. Shop purchases follow the original-shop route.
Posting a Nike Return as a Member or Guest
Nike’s prepaid postal returns are free for members and guests. Follow these steps:
- Open Nike orders. Members use order history; guests enter the order number and email address.
- Select View or Manage, then Start a Return or Exchange.
- Choose the items and reason, then submit.
- Choose an emailed scannable code or printable prepaid label. With a code, the courier prints the label; bring the parcel already packed.
- Pack the items and cover old labels and barcodes.
- Drop the parcel with the courier shown in your setup and keep the postage confirmation.
Lost the code email? Nike says an existing scannable code can be opened again from the return’s details in Nike orders. Nike does not publish a fixed carrier list, drop-off network, home-collection offer or public warehouse address. Use the setup’s instructions, never the Terms’ correspondence address.
Returning a Nike Online Order to a Nike Shop
Use Nike’s store-return finder for eligible UK shops. Bring the original payment method and order barcode or number.
Partnered Stores and Clearance Stores refuse online returns; jewellery and Hyperice cannot go to Nike shops. Nike’s Terms of Sale, section 5, say shops cannot refund payments made by online money transfer and may offer a gift card instead. Nike does not name the individual payment services in that category, so post the return, or ask before travelling, if the refund destination matters.
Returning Something You Bought in a Nike Shop
Take the item and proof to the original shop within the applicable window; shop purchases cannot be posted. If returning there is impossible, contact Nike.
Clearance Store purchases are final unless faulty. Separate general Factory, Unite or outlet rules are not published beyond the named restrictions; check your receipt and ask the shop.
Post or Shop: Which Nike Return Route Refunds More?
Posting can recover more because Nike’s refund help says original delivery fees are refunded fully for a whole order or proportionately for a partial return. Shops cannot refund those fees under Nike’s stated process; statutory cancellation rights remain separate.
| Route | Delivery fee refunded? | Payment-method risk | Exchange-safe? | Items not accepted |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nike prepaid post | Full or prorated; premium caveat below | Normally original payment | Yes, for arranged exchanges | Ineligible items; shop purchases |
| Eligible Nike shop | No | Online money transfers may get a gift card | No, once arranged online/by phone | Jewellery, Hyperice; no online returns at Partnered/Clearance Stores |
Nike’s refund help does not carve out premium delivery. Nike’s Terms of Sale, section 7.1, word it differently: statutory cancellation reimburses only the cheapest standard delivery. Expect the applicable standard-delivery portion; do not count on an express surcharge. Check Nike’s refund confirmation or ask customer service for your order’s answer.
Example: Assume a four-item order with a hypothetical £4 standard delivery charge, and two items returned by post. Nike’s half-the-items illustration gives £4 × 2/4 = £2 delivery refund, plus item refunds. The same two items returned in a shop get no delivery refund. The £4 is an example, not Nike’s tariff.
Post when delivery fees matter or an exchange is already arranged.
Can You Return to Nike Without a Receipt?
Nike requires proof of purchase, but a paper receipt is not always necessary. Confirmed alternatives in its return instructions and Receiptless Returns information are:
- Members: Nike.com or Nike App order history.
- Guests: order number plus email lookup.
- Online orders taken to a shop: order barcode or number, plus original payment method.
Nike’s UK pages do not publish concessions for no purchase record, bank-card lookup, ID-only returns, lowest-price credit or a general gift-receipt route. Retrieve the order or ask Nike rather than relying on those options.
For legal claims about faulty goods, gov.uk accepts other proof, such as a bank statement. That differs from Nike’s voluntary offer.
Returning a Nike Gift
Nike normally refunds the original payment method. The person who placed the order can request a Nike gift-card refund instead, according to its gift-return instructions.
Work with the giver to locate the order and arrange that request. Nike publishes no ID-only gift-return route; the payment destination affects who receives the refund.
When Will You Get Your Nike Refund?
Nike says refunds may take up to 14 days to complete after it receives the items, normally to the original payment method. Its refund page provides these distinct clocks:
| Stage | Standard online return | Nike gift card | Klarna | Statutory cancellation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Return window | Usually notify within 30 days; listed exceptions 14; exchange arrival 17 days from request | Applicable item window | Applicable item window | Cancel within 14 days; send back within 14 days of notice |
| Nike processing | Starts on receipt; email confirmation; up to 14 days total, no stage split | Starts on receipt; up to 14 days total | Nike processes; Klarna issues refund | Without undue delay, subject to legal limit below |
| Bank/provider posting | Not published | Should be available within 24 hours after processing (paid with a Nike gift card) | Not published | Reimbursement within 14 days of receipt or earlier proof of sending; no separate bank estimate |
Shop-refund timing is Not published. Nike publishes no separate bank stage, so do not add one to its 14-day estimate; the gift-card clock starts at processing, not posting.
Exchanging Nike Items: The 17-Day Arrival Rule
Nike’s exchange policy permits most eligible online items to be exchanged for another size or colour within 30 days. Members use order history; guests contact Nike.
Nike must receive the original within 17 days of the request; posting by day 17 is insufficient. Nike sends the replacement after receipt, supplies the prepaid return label and pays standard replacement delivery.
An exchange arranged online or by phone must be posted. Taking it to a shop will not register the exchange, so no replacement is dispatched.
Nike does not publish stock-reservation guarantees, price-difference handling or whether the 17 days are calendar or working days. Post on the day you submit and ask Nike about stock or price uncertainty. Shop purchases are exchanged at the original shop with proof.
What Nike Won’t Take Back
Nike’s exceptions change the ordinary window, condition or route; faulty-goods rights remain separate.
| Item | Nike’s rule | What you can do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Nike By You / Jersey By You | No change-of-mind return or exchange | Use fault route if defective |
| Pre-orders / SNKRS Reserve | 14 days from delivery | Start return promptly |
| Apple Watch accessories | 14 days | Use applicable delivery/purchase start |
| Earrings | Sealed, original condition; box, pouch, inserts, tags | Keep packaging; post online returns |
| Underwear | Sealed, unopened, original packaging | Leave sealed before deciding |
| Other jewellery | Unworn, original condition, all original packaging | Post; no shop return |
| Nike x LEGO brick sets | Sealed and unopened | Missing/damaged brick-set pieces: LEGO support |
| Gift bags | Not returnable under ordinary policy | Contact Nike if faulty |
| Gift cards | Unused cancellation within 14 days of purchase | Contact Nike with card number |
Nike does not publish a complete final-sale list; discounted online items are not automatically final.
Nike Clearance Stores and Outlets
Nike Clearance Store purchases are final for change-of-mind refunds, exchanges and price adjustments, except faulty items. Do not assume every discount shop or Factory Store is a Clearance Store. Check the receipt and original shop; suspected defects need a separate assessment.
Faulty Nike Items: Warranty Claims and Your UK Rights
Nike directs suspected material or workmanship defects to its online warranty claim. Warranty assessment is separate from the 30-day offer; legal rights against the seller also apply.
Making a Nike Warranty Claim
Submit Nike’s online claim with purchase details and photographs. Approved claims receive a free posting label; Nike says shops cannot assist with these warranty returns.
Prepare:
- Online order number, or shop receipt’s order number and receipt photo.
- Contact details and information about use.
- Full-item photo, issue close-up and visible style-number tag; clear JPEG/PNG images no larger than 25 MB.
Nike’s warranty help counts two years from purchase; its Terms, section 8, count from delivery. For online orders, submit before two years from the earlier purchase/order date and retain both confirmation and delivery emails. Nike’s decision on your claim is not the last word: under its claim terms, you can send further information or challenge a refusal, and your statutory rights remain.
Review generally takes about five working days; repairs a few weeks; replacement dispatch or refund generally within 14 days of Nike receiving the original. The claim terms provide for a refund where repair or an identical replacement is unavailable.
Warranty exclusions include no material/workmanship fault, excessive wear, misuse, unauthorised alterations, normal wear and tear and excessively dirty products.
Nike Items Bought From Other Retailers
Change-of-mind returns go to that retailer. For those purchases, use the JD Sports return policy or Sports Direct returns guide.
Nike’s claim terms specifically accept warranty purchases through Zalando, Pro:Direct, Unisport and Stadium. Partnered Store defects go to the partner. Nike directs faulty Hyperice items to Hyperice, and missing or damaged pieces from a Nike x LEGO brick set to LEGO replacement parts. These support routes do not replace rights against the seller.
Your Rights Under UK Consumer Law
Eligible online purchases carry a separate legal cancellation right. Gov.uk and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulations 30–35, provide 14 days after possession to cancel, then up to 14 days after notice to send goods back. Split deliveries in one order use the last delivery.
Reimbursement is due without undue delay, within 14 days of receipt or earlier proof of sending where collection was not offered; standard delivery is reimbursable. Regulation 28 excludes personalised goods and qualifying unsealed hygiene goods from ordinary cancellation.
Faulty goods normally carry a 30-day short-term rejection right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 22, as enacted. Repair or replacement can remain available afterwards. Government guidance says within six months the seller must repair or replace unless it proves the item was not faulty when bought; later it may ask for proof. Citizens Advice explains faulty-goods claims for England, with links for the other UK nations.
No general legal right covers changing your mind about a sound shop purchase. Warranty expiry does not itself end legal rights.
This guide cannot confirm order-specific couriers or individual shop acceptance; those details were not publicly visible. Read how StoreReturners checks each policy.
Nike Return Policy Mistakes That Cost UK Shoppers Money
- Running in trainers before a change-of-mind return: Nike can refuse it or reduce the refund for diminished value.
- Taking an online order to a shop: you lose the delivery-fee refund that posting would give.
- Taking an arranged exchange to a shop: no replacement is sent, so post it instead.
- Posting an exchange late: the original must arrive within 17 days of the request, not just be posted.
- Treating pre-orders or SNKRS Reserve as 30-day items: after day 14 from delivery they no longer qualify for a change-of-mind return.
- Trusting US rules or recycled Christmas dates: use Nike’s UK pages for this market.
Nike Returns FAQ
What happens to a refund for items paid with a Nike gift card?
Nike gift-card refunds should be available within 24 hours after Nike processes the return, according to its refund help. The trigger is processing, so posting a parcel does not start that clock. Nike’s ordinary receipt-to-completion estimate remains separate from this payment-specific availability rule.
Can I get my money back on an unused Nike gift card?
Yes. Nike allows cancellation of an unused gift card within 14 days of purchase. Contact Nike with the gift-card number to request cancellation. This concerns buying the card itself; returning trainers or clothing paid for with a gift card follows the merchandise-refund route instead.
What if my Nike order arrives wrong, damaged or with an item missing?
Contact Nike about an incorrect or damaged item, following its return guidance. For a missing item, first check whether the order has separate deliveries; contact Nike if that does not explain the shortage. Nike does not promise an immediate replacement or priority label in that guidance.
Does Nike charge a restocking fee in the UK?
Nike’s reviewed UK pages do not list a restocking fee. Its prepaid returns are free for members and guests, but excess handling can reduce a refund. Nike’s Terms also allow rejected out-of-time or legally excluded returns to be sent back at your expense; no fixed charge is published.
Can I return a Nike parcel if I don’t have a printer?
Yes. Under the Nike return policy, members and guests can select a scannable code instead of printing a prepaid label. Pack the parcel first; the selected courier prints the label. Follow the courier shown in Nike’s return setup instructions and keep the postage confirmation.
