Shein Return Policy UK: 30-Day Window, £2.50 Fee and Refunds
The SHEIN return policy covers UK website and app orders, including marketplace sellers. Eligible items can be returned within 30 days of receipt, though SHEIN’s terms elsewhere say 45 calendar days from purchase, so act by the earlier date. The first voluntary return per order is free via Evri, Royal Mail or InPost; later returns cost £2.50 each.
Key facts
- SHEIN’s main window is 30 days from receipt; clause 7(1) instead says 45 calendar days from purchase. Act by the earlier date.
- Legal cancellation covers the first 14 days, subject to exceptions; SHEIN’s stricter voluntary scheme covers days 15–30.
- The first voluntary return per order is free using a listed label/QR route; each later return costs £2.50, deducted from the refund.
- SHEIN offers no direct size exchanges: return for a refund and reorder.
- SHEIN estimates 5–7 days for transit/receipt, 5–7 for warehouse checks and 1 day for release, before provider posting.

How Long Do You Have to Return Items to SHEIN UK?
SHEIN’s returns page, return-policy FAQ and GCS section 9 give 30 days from receipt, although clause 7(1) words it differently (see below). Days 1–14 are also your legal cancellation period; days 15–30 run only under SHEIN’s stricter voluntary scheme. Shoppers comparing online fashion windows can check the ASOS returns policy.
Why Do SHEIN’s Pages Say Both 30 and 45 Days?
SHEIN’s main policy says 30 days from receipt, while clause 7(1) says 45 calendar days from purchase. In practice the 30-day receipt clock ends first unless delivery took more than about two weeks; after that, the 45-day purchase clock can end first. No effective date resolves the difference: use the earlier date and check the Return option in My Orders or confirm eligibility with Customer Service.
Does the Deadline Mean Requesting or Posting?
SHEIN does not publish whether a request, carrier scan or warehouse arrival satisfies day 30, or whether those days are calendar or business days. Counting and cut-off times are unpublished: request and drop off early; don’t assume extra transit time.
Is There a SHEIN Christmas Return Extension for 2026?
SHEIN’s UK returns policy, terms and help pages, checked on 28 October 2026, publish no Christmas 2026 extension, so there is no date range or deadline to quote. The standard 30-days-from-receipt window applies unless SHEIN publishes one.
Your 14-Day Legal Right vs SHEIN’s 30-Day Scheme
UK online buyers normally have 14 days after receipt to notify cancellation, then another 14 days to send goods back, as GOV.UK explains. For one order delivered in separate parcels, SHEIN’s terms count the notification period from the last delivery.
| Legal cancellation | SHEIN voluntary scheme |
|---|---|
| When: first 14 days after receipt; exceptions apply | When: days 15–30, subject to the conflicting window wording |
| Action: notify, then dispatch within 14 days | Action: return within the window; decisive deadline event unpublished |
| Condition: shop-like inspection allowed; excessive handling can reduce reimbursement | Condition: new, unused, tags and original packaging |
| Outbound delivery: standard rate reimbursed on full cancellation | Outbound delivery: original shipping/handling not refunded |
| Return postage: may be payable; a free first label isn’t expressly guaranteed for this route | Return postage: first listed return free per order; later returns £2.50 |
| Refund: where collection isn’t offered, no later than 14 days after goods or dispatch evidence, whichever arrives first | Refund: processing estimates differ by source; see refund tables below |
Under SHEIN’s refund rules, statutory refunds are promised within 14 days of notification, but can be withheld until goods or dispatch evidence arrive. Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. Premium outbound delivery is reimbursed only at the standard rate; partial cancellation covers delivery charges that would not have arisen without the returned goods under SHEIN’s terms.
Example: Assume a full eligible cancellation of a £40 item with £3 standard delivery, timely notice/dispatch and no excessive handling: gross reimbursement is £43 before any lawful return-postage cost.
What Can You Return to SHEIN, and in What Condition?
SHEIN’s voluntary scheme requires returnable goods to be new, unused and undamaged, with original packaging and applicable tags. The category requirements add these conditions:
| Category | Condition SHEIN sets |
|---|---|
| Apparel, wedding dresses and suits | Unworn, unwashed, unaltered; attached tags and intact hygiene sticker where applicable |
| Human-hair wigs | New, unworn, unwashed, undamaged, unaltered, original tags; checked for bleaching, cutting or washing |
| Shoes, bags and luggage | New, unworn, undamaged; branded boxes and all accessories; shoes tried only on a clean, soft surface |
| Furniture | New, unused, undamaged; include manuals, parts and accessories |
| Phones, laptops, tablets, projectors and electronics | Originally sealed, non-activated; erase personal data and include manuals, accessories and gifts |
| Other returnable categories | Brand new |
| Bundles | Return the complete set |
Items SHEIN Won’t Take Back After Day 14
SHEIN excludes these from its voluntary scheme:
- Bodysuits, lingerie, jewellery, beauty and underwear.
- Event/party supplies, DIY supplies and pet supplies.
- Accessories except scarves, bags and mermaid blankets.
- Cosmetics with broken seals; customised goods.
- Non-returnable-labelled goods and free gifts, including CLUB free gifts.
Check returnability on the product page or in the shopping bag before checkout. Statutory cancellation rights differ: relevant legal exceptions include personalised goods and health/hygiene goods unsealed after delivery. GOV.UK’s guidance also preserves faulty-goods rights, including sale goods. Within the first 14 days, an item on this list can still be cancelled under the legal right unless one of those legal exceptions applies.
How to Return a SHEIN Order
You request a SHEIN return in five steps on the website or app; the methods My Orders offers for your order decide the route. Have the order and packaging ready. Use My Orders, the official instructions and return policy.
Step by Step in My Orders
- Sign in and open My Orders. Check the purchase is listed; use the account that placed it.
- Choose Return or (Combined) Return. Check the intended order is selected; don’t pack unrelated orders together without approval.
- Select items and a reason. Check every intended item appears; don’t assume selecting an order selects everything.
- Choose a return method and refund destination. Check the offered route and destination; don’t assume Wallet credit is a bank refund.
- Submit and save the label or QR. Open Return & Refund Record → Details; check the code is available before drop-off. The same screen lets you modify items or cancel; changes don’t extend the deadline.
The returns page warns against posting directly to the sender or printed label address; GCS 8(4) says to use the label address. Use the generated label/QR with its carrier, rather than copying or handwriting an address. Ask Customer Service for the route before arranging statutory self-shipping.
SHEIN may occasionally refund without asking for the item back, at its discretion only; otherwise send the parcel with the selected carrier.
Evri, Royal Mail and InPost Drop-Off Options
SHEIN lists the following UK methods; carrier restrictions can hide options, so your order screen determines availability.
| Method | Printer needed? | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Evri shop | Label: yes; QR: no | First voluntary return free; later £2.50 | Use generated route |
| Royal Mail drop-off | Label: yes; QR: no | First voluntary return free; later £2.50 | Use generated route |
| InPost locker | No; QR only | First voluntary return free; later £2.50 | Use offered locker route |
| Self-return | Depends on chosen carrier | Pay carrier directly | Normally not reimbursed |
Pack only selected items; remove or cover the old delivery label when reusing packaging. Attach the generated printed label, or show the QR at Evri/Royal Mail. Get a receipt or tracking at handover. For an offered InPost locker route, scan the return QR, select a compartment size, put the parcel in the compartment that opens, close it and finish on screen. InPost says its largest locker compartment is 41 × 38 × 64 cm, up to 15 kg.
The free first return and the £2.50 charge for each later return are counted within each order. SHEIN doesn’t publish whether a 14-day legal cancellation gets the free label.
Can You Combine Returns From Different Orders?
Yes, SHEIN permits eligible orders in one parcel when the combined-return list offers them together. Non-returnable items, expired windows, different accounts and different destination countries cannot combine.
The application FAQ excludes different shipping addresses; the combining FAQ instead excludes different countries. Assume two different UK addresses cannot combine unless the portal offers them together; ask Customer Service if unclear. Use one parcel per merged label. Help text says to cancel and reapply to add another order after submission; contact support if unavailable.
Are SHEIN Returns Free?
The first return per order is free within SHEIN’s voluntary window using listed label/QR routes; each later return from that order costs £2.50, deducted from the refund. The free-return FAQ supports this per-return charge, rather than a per-item fee.
Ordinary self-return postage is yours. Statutory first-label pricing is unpublished: check My Orders or Customer Service. SHEIN’s UK policy does not list a restocking fee. CLUB shipping vouchers and SAVER coupons cannot pay return shipping; no universal member fee waiver or longer window is published.
Example: Assume two eligible dresses from one order go together using its first voluntary label, with no reward effects: return-label cost is £0.
Example: Assume the same order instead has two accepted voluntary returns, each with its own label and no other deductions: £0 + £2.50 = £2.50 total, regardless of the number of dresses.
Fashion shoppers comparing courier-return charges can check the Next return policy.
Bulky, Heavy and Remote-Area Returns
SHEIN says required self-arranged shipping for oversized, overweight or remote-area returns can be reimbursed after inspection. Pay upfront, keep mailing proof and contact SHEIN after the goods pass checks. No reimbursement cap or payout time is published; confirm arrangements first. This exception does not cover elective ordinary self-return.
Who Handles Returns From Third-Party Sellers on SHEIN?
SHEIN facilitates returns and refunds for marketplace sellers through My Orders and Customer Service. The product page/order summary identifies the affiliate or independent seller; both use the GCS. Third-party status alone doesn’t exclude returns.
The returns page and terms name Infinite Towers Services Ltd as operator, while the linked division-of-obligations page names Infinite Styles Services Co., Ltd. in Ireland; confirm the actual seller on your order and contact Customer Service over responsibility questions.
No shop or pop-up return route is published.
SHEIN Refunds: How Long Do They Take?
SHEIN publishes no single guaranteed parcel-to-bank total. The returns page and refund page give separate stage estimates; payment-provider posting follows release.
The three clocks
| Clock | Rule or estimate |
|---|---|
| 1. Return window | Main rule: 30 days from receipt; legal cancellation: notify within 14 days, dispatch within 14 more |
| 2. SHEIN stages | Returns page: transit/receipt 5–7 days; warehouse checks 5–7 days; release 1 day. Refund page: voluntary processing up to 10–15 days after receipt. Combined-return FAQ: normally within 7 days of receipt |
| 3. Provider posting | Method-specific time below, after SHEIN release; not measured from drop-off |
The returns page’s stage table, refund page’s allowance and combined-return estimate word processing differently and have different scopes. Don’t add them into a guaranteed total; check Return & Refund Record and ask Customer Service about delays. Statutory cancellation has its own legal maximum described above.
Refund release and provider posting, by payment method
| Method | SHEIN release stage, after processing | Additional posting |
|---|---|---|
| SHEIN Wallet | Within 1 hour | No separate stage |
| SHEIN gift card | Within 24 hours | No separate stage |
| Clearpay | Within 24 hours | 1–2 business days |
| PayPal | Within 24 hours | 2–5 business days |
| Klarna | Within 24 hours | 5–7 business days |
| Credit/debit card | Within 24 hours | 5–10 business days; sometimes up to 30 days |
SHEIN emails once processed; the refund page also explains payment-specific adjustments.
Klarna, Clearpay, Gift Cards and Expired Cards
Klarna adjusts or cancels remaining instalments and refunds surplus payments. Clearpay applies refunds from the last instalment backwards, cancelling outstanding amounts where appropriate and returning paid surpluses to the cards used.
Gift-card orders default to that gift card. For expired/invalid cards, contact the issuer. An ARN (acquirer reference number), where generated, appears in Refund Details or the email and helps the bank trace a refund.
Why Is My SHEIN Refund Lower Than I Paid?
SHEIN refunds can be reduced by later-return charges, non-refundable voluntary delivery costs, condition deductions and reward reversals. Check these separately:
- £2.50 for a later return from the same order.
- Original shipping/handling excluded under the voluntary scheme.
- Shopper-caused damage, use or missing parts: entirely non-resalable goods may get no refund. SHEIN says it disposes of those unless you request them back and pay the cost.
- CLUB Credit Rewards: related rewards/unused promotional credits are removed first; any remaining recovery can reduce the refund £1 per £1.
- Points: spent points restored proportionally unless expired; earned points deducted.
- SAVER coupons: an unexpired coupon is restored only for a whole-order return, retaining its original conditions/expiry.
SHEIN’s published CLUB/SAVER terms are older versions still served; plan details may differ by account.
Example: Assume a £20 eligible return, a free first label, £3 of related CLUB rewards still to recoup after available credits are exhausted and no other deductions: a £3 reversal leaves £17. This is a conditional reward reversal, not a fee.
Can You Exchange SHEIN Items for a Different Size?
No. SHEIN’s size-exchange FAQ says direct exchanges cannot currently be processed. Return for a refund and order separately; no stock reservation, price/discount protection or new-order fee waiver is published, so check checkout before reordering.
If you’re deciding where to reorder, the Boohoo return policy shows how another online fashion retailer handles returns.
Faulty, Damaged or Wrong Items From SHEIN
SHEIN’s damage instructions involve three separate periods; the 24-hour instruction is not a general faulty-item cut-off:
- Parcel damage: GCS delivery terms ask you to refuse visibly damaged parcels or make written carrier reservations within 24 hours, copying Customer Service.
- Fault reporting: the returns page asks for contact within 90 days of ordering; GCS 7(4) says 30 days from receipt. Report immediately, within 30 days where possible, and confirm arrangements with Customer Service. Neither period limits statutory remedies.
- Legal rejection: the CMA explains the normal 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods. This normally starts the day after delivery, ownership and required installation are complete. Later repair/replacement rights remain, subject to statutory conditions: the trader bears necessary costs and must act within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience. Impossible or disproportionate remedies can be refused; failed remedies can lead to price reduction or final rejection.
Follow SHEIN’s defective-item instructions: photograph damage and packaging with tags visible, contact Customer Service, state your refund preference and proposed carrier. Confirmed faults receive the product refund, applicable delivery charges and reasonable return costs against receipts. For wrong items/quantities, the seller pays return costs and the GCS promises reimbursement within 14 days of receiving goods back.
On valid legal rejection, the trader bears reasonable return costs and refunds within 14 days after agreeing entitlement, without a refund fee, using the original payment method unless expressly agreed otherwise. GOV.UK accepts alternative purchase evidence such as bank statements. SHEIN’s warehouse checks determine voluntary refunds; legal rights remain the backstop when resolving a dispute.
Shein Return Policy Mistakes That Cost UK Shoppers Money
- Using the wrong clock: counting 30 days from ordering shortens your assumed window; relying on 45 days alone risks rejection. Use the earlier published deadline.
- Splitting returns: later returns from one order cost £2.50 each. Put eligible items together in the first authorised return.
- Wearing/washing goods or removing tags: voluntary refunds can be reduced or refused. Preserve condition and hygiene stickers.
- Copying an address: conflicting address wording risks misrouting. Use the generated carrier label/QR.
- Expecting a swap: direct size exchange is unavailable. Check reorder stock, price and charges.
- Assuming frequent returns have no account consequences: SHEIN’s privacy notice says unusual activity or high returns may trigger automated account/return restrictions. No thresholds are published. The same notice says you can ask for human review of, and contest, such an automated decision.
SHEIN’s public pages cannot show your item-specific methods, statutory-label price or detailed fair-use thresholds. Read how StoreReturners checks retailer policies.
FAQ
Do I need a receipt to return to SHEIN UK?
SHEIN’s published route uses the order in your signed-in account, with Customer Service assistance available. No separate paper-receipt requirement, card/ID lookup or gift-recipient route is published. For statutory claims, GOV.UK recognises evidence such as a bank statement; that does not establish a SHEIN portal lookup feature.
Can I return SHEIN items to a shop?
SHEIN publishes no shop or pop-up return route for these UK online orders. Evri and Royal Mail shop drop-offs and InPost lockers are carrier services using the label or QR generated for your order. Choose an offered method in My Orders before taking your parcel to a location.
Does SHEIN CLUB give free or longer returns?
SHEIN’s published CLUB, VIP and SAVER terms establish no universal longer product-return window or fee waiver. CLUB shipping vouchers and SAVER coupons cannot pay return postage. CLUB reward recovery can reduce a refund, so check your account’s applicable plan rather than assuming membership removes the ordinary charges.
Does SHEIN charge a restocking fee?
SHEIN’s UK policy does not list a restocking fee. The policy does allow loss-of-value deductions for use, damage or missing parts, and non-resalable items may receive no refund. Keep those condition deductions separate from the £2.50 later-return charge and any recovery of related CLUB rewards.
What happens to my SHEIN Points when I return something?
SHEIN restores spent points proportionally unless expired and deducts earned points. Its points rules word insufficient balances differently: one paragraph stops at zero; another permits a negative balance without payment obligation. Neither outcome is guaranteed; check your account or ask Customer Service to explain the adjustment.
Can SHEIN refund me without taking the item back?
SHEIN may choose to refund without requiring a return under its published policy, but only at its discretion. The SHEIN return policy gives no entitlement to keep the item and receive money back. Follow the instructions attached to your request unless SHEIN explicitly authorises a different outcome.
