Superdrug Return Policy (UK): 28 Days, Refunds and Exceptions

The Superdrug return policy gives UK shoppers 28 days to return unused, resalable superdrug.com purchases sold by Superdrug, in original packaging, to a shop or via Evri. Marketplace and supplier-delivered items go back to the seller or supplier. Selected own-brand products allow used returns under the Money Back Guarantee; Online Doctor, Online Pharmacy and Mobile are outside this guide.

How Long Do You Have to Return to Superdrug?

28 days is the direct online window on Superdrug's returns page, website terms and FAQ. For home delivery, the terms start it the day after delivery. Marketplace terms separately give 28 days after receipt.

Superdrug does not define calendar versus working days, or whether label creation, drop-off or warehouse arrival meets the postal deadline. Return several days early and keep proof of sending.

When does the 28 days start for Order & Collect?

Superdrug's returns page and FAQ count from receipt, while terms section 6.1 starts the day after delivery to your home or chosen shop. Those wordings can give different results when collection is delayed. Count from delivery to the shop, collect promptly, and ask the Customer Team at help@superdrug.com or through Superdrug's contact chat to confirm your order's deadline.

Example: Assume your order reaches the shop on Monday and you collect on Saturday. Under the terms, the clock may already run from Tuesday; use that earlier start.

Why does an old Superdrug document say 14 days?

Superdrug's still-searchable May 2014 terms PDF gives 14 days. The live returns page, terms and FAQ instead give 28 days. The older document helps explain why some guides still quote 14. Rely on the live returns page, keep a screenshot if returning late in the window, and ask the Customer Team about disputed eligibility.

What about items you bought in a Superdrug shop?

Superdrug's sources describe online orders and publish no separate till-purchase change-of-mind policy. Superdrug does not publish a return window, gift-receipt rule or no-receipt option for shop purchases.

GOV.UK's returns guidance explains that unwanted in-person purchases have no automatic change-of-mind refund right. Keep your till receipt and ask about returns when buying. Faulty goods have separate rights below.

Is there a Superdrug Christmas 2026 return extension?

Superdrug has not published a Christmas 2026 return extension on its returns page, terms or FAQ (checked 29 October 2026). Its Christmas shop page supplies no return dates. Use the standard 28-day rules for eligible online goods unless Superdrug publishes an applicable extension; do not assume a January deadline.

What Condition Must Superdrug Returns Be In?

Superdrug requires ordinary change-of-mind returns to be unused, resalable and in original packaging. Its terms allow handling reasonably needed to examine goods, but unnecessary handling can reduce a cancellation refund. No universal tags or accessories checklist is published; return everything supplied in the box.

Opened makeup, perfume and hygiene-sealed items

Superdrug distinguishes examination from use: opening an outer box to inspect a product does not automatically disqualify it. Sealed goods unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons are excluded once unsealed after delivery. Superdrug's website terms and Marketplace terms also exclude unsealed hygiene goods that are unsuitable for return, such as pierced earrings; the returns page mentions only the sealed wording, so ask the Customer Team before returning a hygiene item that arrived unsealed.

No blanket rule covers every perfume or cosmetic. Routine use is separately allowed for eligible own-brand guarantee products, explained below; a broken hygiene seal needs its own assessment.

Items Superdrug won't take back

Superdrug's change-of-mind exclusions include:

  • Perishables, such as food and baby milk.
  • Medicines.
  • Personalised products.
  • Hygiene goods unsuitable for return: sealed items unsealed after delivery, and unsealed items such as pierced earrings (terms).

The terms preserve protection for faulty, damaged or wrongly delivered items. These voluntary exclusions do not remove statutory fault rights. No general sale-item exclusion is listed, and sale goods retain the same legal rights.

If your health purchase falls outside Superdrug's change-of-mind policy, the Specsavers returns policy guide shows how another UK health retailer handles returns.

How to Return a Superdrug Online Order

Superdrug accepts all or part of an eligible direct online order in a shop or through its linked Evri route. Check the seller and fulfilment details first: Marketplace and supplier parcels need separate destinations.

Returning an online order to a Superdrug shop

Superdrug asks for your Order Summary, on your phone or printed, plus the payment card. Find the summary in My Account order history or your Order Shipped email; bring your Beautycard for points adjustment.

  1. Use Superdrug's store finder to choose a shop.
  2. Take the eligible items, packaging, Order Summary and payment card.
  3. Request a refund or eligible exchange at the shop.

Superdrug processes the refund immediately; bank posting follows later. Check that the refund or exchange is completed before you leave. A common mistake is bringing Marketplace or supplier-delivered goods: shops cannot accept those returns.

Returning a Superdrug order by post with Evri

Superdrug directs eligible UK postal returns through its linked Evri label service. Have the goods and original packaging ready.

  1. Open that service from Superdrug's returns instructions and follow the options displayed for your order.
  2. Pack the eligible direct-order goods and follow the service's sending instructions.
  3. Send well before day 28 and retain proof of sending.

Superdrug's returns page does not say whether the Evri service offers QR codes, printer-free labels, home collection or particular drop-off points, so use the options it shows for your order. Keep your proof of sending until the refund-processed email arrives. Postal returns receive refunds rather than exchanges. Avoid mixing supplier goods into the parcel.

Are Superdrug postal returns free?

Superdrug advertises free UK returns using its Evri label, but terms section 6.5(a) limits retailer-paid parcels to 5kg and 61 × 46 × 46cm. The terms name Royal Mail standard rates for excess parcels, without a flat £ fee. Keep within those limits and contact the Customer Team before sending anything larger to confirm the charge and route.

Superdrug's pages list no general restocking or standalone shop-return fee.

Marketplace and Supplier-Delivered Orders

Superdrug Marketplace purchases form a contract with a third-party seller; Superdrug acts as agent. Supplier-delivered goods are Superdrug sales fulfilled by a supplier. The two routes have different instructions.

Returning a Marketplace item to the seller

Superdrug's Marketplace terms allow eligible returns within 28 days after receipt, subject to exclusions. Contact the seller through your account query or order-confirmation link, then follow its Returns Information or obtain its return address.

The shopper pays change-of-mind postage unless the seller says otherwise; exact charges and label terms are not published centrally, so ask before sending. The seller refunds the original payment method; gift-order refunds go to the purchaser's card. Marketplace cancellation terms provide applicable delivery reimbursement, excluding upgrade supplements. Never send Marketplace returns to Superdrug shops or its warehouse.

What if a Marketplace seller won't sort it out?

Superdrug allows an appeal for review at help@superdrug.com after you try the seller. Review does not guarantee a refund.

The Marketplace terms leave the refund-days figure blank, so no universal seller timetable is published. Ask the seller for timing rather than importing direct-order estimates; statutory deadlines still apply where relevant.

Supplier-delivered items from superdrug.com

Superdrug directs supplier returns through the enclosed Returns Information. Shops cannot accept them, and direct and supplier goods must travel in separate parcels under the website terms.

Supplier-specific deadlines, fees and logistics are not published centrally. Follow the enclosed document, or ask for instructions before dispatching. A product's own-brand guarantee may offer a separate shop route if eligible.

Can You Return Used Superdrug Own-Brand Products?

Yes: selected own-brand products can be used and returned to a Superdrug shop if results disappoint under the Results or 100% Money Back Guarantee. With a receipt, Superdrug refunds the actual price paid to the original payment method; without one, the price paid goes onto a Superdrug gift card.

Healthcare products are excluded. The guarantee covers selected lines subject to availability, and Superdrug may refuse suspected abuse, excessive returns or fraud. Delivery charges are excluded and later price changes do not affect the refund.

Superdrug publishes no guarantee time limit, start point, precise no-receipt proof requirements or postal route. Return promptly to a shop with any purchase evidence and ask staff to confirm eligibility.

Example: Assume an eligible non-healthcare own-brand serum cost £8, you have no receipt, and Superdrug establishes that purchase price. The stated outcome is £8 on a Superdrug gift card.

The guarantee adds to your legal rights. If you are choosing between chains for a skincare product you may want to send back, compare the Boots return policy guide.

Returning to Superdrug Without a Receipt

Superdrug accepts the online Order Summary for direct online shop returns, alongside the payment card. The own-brand guarantee separately provides a gift-card refund without a receipt.

No ordinary till-purchase no-receipt remedy, ID-only return, receipt-free exchange or Beautycard transaction lookup is published. Ask the shop rather than assuming those options exist.

For consumer-rights claims, GOV.UK confirms alternative proof, such as a bank statement, can count. That does not create a change-of-mind entitlement.

How Long Do Superdrug Refunds Take?

Superdrug processes direct shop refunds immediately. Postal cancellation terms allow up to 14 days after goods or evidence of sending, whichever arrives first; bank-posting guidance differs across pages.

2 · Superdrug processesCancellation: within 14 days

Bank posting Usually 1–3, up to 7 working days on returns page; up to 5 in FAQ Postal section: up to 5 working days after processed email; procedure section: up to 7 Returns page; FAQ

The returns page gives both five- and seven-working-day estimates; the FAQ gives five for shop refunds. Allow seven working days after the processed email or shop refund before chasing your bank, then contact Superdrug. These estimates do not extend statutory deadlines or form a guaranteed combined total.

Direct refunds use the original payment method, including Health & Beautycard payment; gift-order card refunds go to the purchaser. If your card has expired, Superdrug's FAQ says the Customer Team can arrange a cheque; no timescale is published. Marketplace timing remains seller-specific.

Will Superdrug refund the delivery charge?

Yes, for a qualifying cancelled order, Superdrug refunds delivery up to the cheapest standard option; the premium supplement is excluded under its cancellation terms. Partial-return or split-order allocation is unpublished, so ask before assuming a delivery refund. The own-brand guarantee excludes delivery.

Example: Assume a qualifying whole-order cancellation of £40, cheapest standard delivery of £3.95, upgraded delivery paid of £5.95, and no deductions. These are hypothetical tariffs. The refund is £43.95; the £2 upgrade supplement is excluded.

When the refund arrives, check it against the goods plus the cheapest standard delivery. If delivery is missing on a qualifying whole-order cancellation, contact the Customer Team with your order number and refund email and ask for the balance.

What happens to your Beautycard points?

Superdrug removes points earned on returned goods under its Beautycard terms. Show your card for shop returns; online-earned points are removed once goods are received and refunded.

Exchanges at Superdrug

Superdrug offers exchanges for eligible direct website purchases only when returned to a shop. Warehouse returns receive refunds, so a postal return requires a separate new order if you want another item.

Exchange fees, price differences, stock reservations and a separate exchange window are not published. Ask the shop before travelling if those details affect your decision.

Faulty, Damaged or Recalled Superdrug Items

Superdrug's terms direct faulty, damaged or wrong goods to Superdrug or the supplier under the applicable instructions; Marketplace faults go to the seller. No compulsory photos, reporting form or retailer-specific reporting cutoff is published. Ask at help@superdrug.com or through Superdrug's contact chat for direct-order help.

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 normally provides a 30-day short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods; perishables can have a shorter period. Under section 22, the 30 days usually start the day after you receive the goods, and any agreed repair or replacement wait pauses the clock. Within that period, tell the trader clearly that you are rejecting the faulty item and want a refund, then return it or make it available as agreed. Repair or replacement rights can follow under section 23. Within six months, the trader generally must address a fault unless it proves the fault was absent at purchase; this is not an automatic six-month refund promise.

For statutory rejection, the trader bears reasonable return costs, excluding your cost of returning in person to the place you took possession. Section 20 requires refunds within 14 days of agreeing entitlement, normally by the same payment means. Required repairs or replacements must take reasonable time, avoid significant inconvenience and include necessary postage costs.

For recalls, check the exact product and batch on Superdrug's Product Recalls page and follow that notice. This guide explains published rules; it cannot confirm a shop's treatment of a particular till purchase or borderline hygiene item.

Qualifying online goods carry a separate right to notify cancellation within 14 days after physical receipt, without a reason. Send goods back without undue delay and within 14 days after notice, as GOV.UK explains. Direct return costs normally fall to the consumer unless the trader agrees otherwise; Superdrug's free label is a separate benefit.

Where the trader has not offered collection, regulation 34 requires reimbursement within 14 days of goods or evidence of posting, whichever arrives first, normally by the same means and without a refund fee. Personalised goods, perishables and unsuitable hygiene-sealed goods unsealed after delivery have cancellation exceptions.

For direct orders, send notice to help@superdrug.com or The Superdrug Customer Team, 51 Sydenham Road, Croydon, Surrey CR0 2EU. This is a notice address, not a parcel return address. Marketplace notice goes to the seller. The voluntary 28-day policy is longer for most eligible returns, but keep the two processes distinct.

Superdrug Return Policy Mistakes to Avoid

  • Sending Marketplace or supplier goods to a shop or using Superdrug's Evri label risks the wrong destination.
  • Posting when you want an exchange produces a refund route instead.
  • Delaying Order & Collect collection can use up part of the return period.
  • Posting a parcel over 5kg or 61 × 46 × 46cm without checking can mean a charge at Royal Mail standard rates under the terms.
  • Relying on an old 14-day figure or counting from purchase uses the wrong standard rule.
  • Expecting a bank refund for a no-receipt guarantee return overlooks the gift-card outcome.

Questions shoppers ask

Does Superdrug charge a restocking fee?

Superdrug's pages do not list a general restocking fee or standalone shop-return fee. That does not establish that every return is free: terms qualify retailer-paid parcels by weight and dimensions, with excess-postage wording. Check with the Customer Team before sending an oversized direct-order parcel.

Is creating an Evri label on day 28 enough?

Superdrug does not publish whether label creation, parcel drop-off or warehouse arrival satisfies its voluntary 28-day deadline. Creating a label on the last day therefore gives no confirmed protection. Send the parcel well before the deadline and retain proof of sending rather than relying on label creation alone.

Who gets the refund for a Superdrug gift order?

Superdrug's direct-order rules send card refunds for gifts to the original purchaser's card. Marketplace terms also send gift-order refunds to the purchaser's card through the seller. The gift recipient should coordinate with the buyer and use the correct return route; a gift does not automatically create a gift-card refund.

Do Beautycard VIP members get longer to return items?

Superdrug publishes no longer return window for Beautycard VIP members or ordinary Beautycard holders. Eligible direct online purchases therefore use the standard 28-day policy. Membership also does not establish a universal free-return upgrade or receipt lookup. Keep your Order Summary and payment card ready for a shop return.

Can I return pierced earrings to Superdrug?

Superdrug's terms exclude pierced earrings that arrive unsealed, as unsuitable hygiene goods, and sealed earrings once unsealed after delivery. The terms do not confirm that earrings still in an intact seal are returnable, so ask Superdrug for a direct purchase, or the Marketplace seller, before sending them. Faulty, damaged or wrongly delivered earrings retain separate protection.
