Yes. Academy beats eligible competitors' lower advertised prices by 5% in stores, on Academy.com and in its app. Academy requires:

• The same brand and model number.
• Stock at the Academy store where you're buying, or online for an online match.
• A competitor price valid at the time of purchase.
• A qualifying competitor selling directly, with no excluded offer terms.

Academy reserves the right to verify the competitor's price and availability.

How the 5% Price Beat Is Calculated

Academy takes 5% off the eligible competitor price before sales tax. An assumed qualifying $90 offer becomes $85.50 before tax: $90 × 0.95. Academy doesn't cancel or override sales tax, and reserves the right to limit matches to one per customer, per day, per item.

Which competitors does Academy price match?

Academy accepts two routes: identical, in-stock merchandise in any local retailer's printed ad, and direct offers from these 17 named online retailers. Academy's published list is:

Academy publishes no local mileage radius, delivery-to-address test or decision on an unlisted local retailer's online-only offer. Bring the printed ad; ask first about an unlisted store's web price. If you buy at Dick's instead, check Dick's Sporting Goods return rules before paying. For any listed website, seller identity still matters.

Amazon, Walmart and Third-Party Sellers

Academy excludes third-party seller offers on every competitor site, specifically including Amazon and Walmart marketplace sellers. Fulfillment by Amazon or Walmart doesn't make a third-party seller the retailer itself; check the listed seller, not just the platform logo.

Academy doesn't publish matching rights for any third-party sellers on its own site; ask before relying on such a listing. Identical Item, In Stock at Academy

Academy requires the same brand and model number, available at the relevant store or online purchase channel. An unavailable item gets neither a match nor a rain check.

Academy publishes no separate new, open-box, used or refurbished condition rule, or independent warranty-equivalence test. Compare new, identical items and ask about other conditions before buying. When the lower price belongs to Academy itself, use its internal matching rules.

Academy matches Academy.com prices for store purchases, and in-store prices for Academy.com and app purchases. Academy's pricing terms allow channel prices to differ, so ask for the match rather than assuming identical prices.

No extra 5% is promised on these internal matches. Academy doesn't publish matching between two stores or between its app and website. Compare Academy.com and store prices before paying. If Academy won't match between them, buy in the cheaper channel.

Academy uses store associates for in-store requests and Customer Service for online and app requests. Have proof of a current, identical, directly sold offer and check Academy stock; purchases already completed use the adjustment rules below. Academy lists no request charge in its published matching and adjustment rules.

In an Academy Store, Before You Pay

1. Ask before checkout. Show a store associate the valid advertised price. Use Academy's store directory to find a location.
2. Present the full evidence. Bring the entire printed ad or a digital version on your phone; Academy's instructions also mention a website. Compare brand and model number together.
3. Confirm the approved price before paying. Check the price with the associate. A different model, missing store stock or multiple units can prevent the expected result; Academy may apply its quantity limit.

On Academy.com or the App, Through Customer Service

1. Contact Customer Service before buying. Academy's contact page provides live chat, phone 1-888-922-2336 and email customerservice@academy.com.
2. Supply the retailer's name and direct product link. Academy also allows Academy.com/app ad evidence by email or mail under its guarantee instructions.
3. Confirm how to complete the approved purchase. Ask Customer Service for the next step. Academy publishes no app matching button, checkout field or automatic workflow; a third-party listing or missing Academy online stock can defeat the request.

Academy's terms say it doesn't accept orders submitted from California or international locations (except military APO/FPO/DPO addresses via USPS), and doesn't currently ship to Alaska, California, Hawaii, US territories such as Puerto Rico or international destinations (except military APO/FPO addresses via USPS). If that applies to you, ask Customer Service how an online match could be completed, or request the match in a store.

What proof does Academy accept?

It depends on the request: an ad for in-store matches, a direct product link for online competitor requests, and the original receipt for adjustments.

Accepted proof doesn't make an ineligible competitor eligible. Keep the original receipt for any later adjustment request.

Academy offers eligible price adjustments within 14 days of the date printed on the original receipt, which you must present. This is conditional, rather than a refund promise for every lower price, under Academy's purchase adjustment rules.

Academy doesn't specify a phone, chat or email adjustment workflow, an original-store requirement, or whether to bring the item. Adjustment-specific condition, packaging and receipt alternatives are also unpublished. Take the original receipt and the item to a store, or ask Customer Service what to bring and where to go first.

Example: Assume you bought an item at an Academy store for $120 on November 2, 2026, outside clearance or a timed event, kept the original receipt, and Academy's price for the same item drops to $100 on November 10, 2026. November 10 is eight days after the receipt date, within 14 days, so you can ask with the receipt. The price gap is $20; Academy doesn't publish whether the adjustment equals that gap exactly, its tax calculation, payout method or timing. No extra 5% is promised.

Is it 14 calendar days or 14 business days?

Academy says “14 days” from the receipt date without specifying calendar or business days. Academy also leaves inclusive counting, cutoff time, time zone and whether submitting or completing the request meets the deadline unpublished. Ask as soon as you see the lower price, well inside the window; don't budget for 14 business days.

Clearance and Timed-Event Purchases Can't Be Adjusted

Academy excludes merchandise bought on clearance or during timed events from adjustments, even within 14 days. The purchase circumstances decide this exclusion, rather than today's lower price. That adjustment rule doesn't establish whether clearance merchandise can be returned.

Do you get the extra 5% on a price adjustment?

Academy doesn't say whether adjustments include another 5%. Its adjustment terms don't say which lower prices count or whether a competitor's price drop after purchase qualifies. Automatic and repeat-adjustment rules are also unpublished. Ask before relying on either; for a competitor offer, request the beat before buying and check exclusions first.

For unpublished situations, bring the full offer terms and ask before buying. A missing specific rule doesn't override Academy's broader special-promotion exclusions.

Are Black Friday deals and doorbusters excluded?

Academy doesn't name Black Friday, Cyber Monday or doorbusters, or publish blackout dates. Its timed-event and limited-quantity exclusions can still rule out those offers. An ordinary competitor price isn't excluded simply because it's the holiday season; check the offer terms before expecting a match.

Is there an Academy holiday price guarantee for 2026?

Academy had published no 2026 holiday price-match or price-adjustment extension as of October 29, 2026. Use the standard rules, including the conditional 14-day adjustment period, unless Academy confirms a new seasonal policy.

Academy's Deal Days terms covered qualifying Academy.com/app purchases in a sale that began October 22, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. CT. The promotion couldn't combine with a match and wasn't valid on previous purchases: it was a sale, not price protection.

A holiday release Academy issued on November 6, 2025 describes the 2025 season and sets no 2026 terms. This guide will be updated if Academy publishes holiday price protection.

Academy's myAcademy Rewards terms prohibit combining the $15 welcome offer, $15 birthday gift or $25 annual reward with a price match. Because those rewards can't be combined with a match, compare the matched total with the total using the reward, and pick the lower one. Apply each offer's own conditions. Coupons are also on the matching exclusions list.

Academy's credit-card benefit terms don't explicitly say whether the 5% everyday cardholder discount combines with a price beat. Academy publishes no longer adjustment window or wider competitor entitlement for members or cardholders. Ask about the card combination before paying; don't assume combined savings when comparing the final price.

At purchase, an Academy match sets a lower price before tax, so no difference needs refunding. After purchase, Academy doesn't publish how an approved adjustment comes back.

The adjustment help page supplies no payout schedule. Merchandise-return refund rules don't establish adjustment payment rules. Ask how an adjustment will be issued before leaving the counter or ending a conversation, and keep any confirmation for a later return.

Academy's 14-day adjustment period and return policy are separate rules with separate clocks. Its return policy covers most unused, new-condition items within 60 days of purchase, with category restrictions; that period doesn't extend adjustment eligibility.

Academy doesn't say whether an adjustment affects later return eligibility, requires an updated receipt, restarts the return clock or changes the refund calculation. Keep the original receipt and adjustment record together, and don't expect the original, unadjusted price back.

Academy's published conditions rule out several assumptions:

• Using a third-party seller's price on Amazon, Walmart or another site.
• Expecting 14 business days, or waiting until the window's end.
• Requesting an adjustment on a clearance or timed-event purchase.
• Combining a welcome, birthday or annual reward with matching.
• Expecting an Academy.com-to-store match plus another 5%.
• Expecting a rain check when Academy has no stock.

The Academy price match policy offers a 5% beat on eligible, identical, in-stock competitor offers sold directly by the retailer. Academy matches Academy.com prices in store, and store prices on Academy.com and the app, on request. Eligible adjustments have a separate 14-day receipt-based window; Academy had published no 2026 holiday extension as of October 29, 2026.
