How Long Do You Have to Return Something to SHEIN?
30 days from delivery is SHEIN's standard window for most eligible items. Marketplace products can have shorter or longer windows; check the listing and order history. Orders from the UK site follow the separate SHEIN UK return policy.
SHEIN's general help answer requires the provided label to be postmarked within 30 days after delivery. SHEIN doesn't specify calendar versus business days, day-zero counting, cutoff time or an equivalent Happy Returns scan deadline. Send the return several days early rather than assuming an extra period after requesting it.
Is there a 2026 holiday return extension at SHEIN?
SHEIN's published sources establish no 2026 holiday extension, qualifying purchase dates or extended deadline. Use the ordinary delivery-based window unless an official notice or your order specifies otherwise. Recheck the Return Policy before relying on a seasonal allowance.
Postmark vs request: what "on time" means
SHEIN's return request authorizes the process; submitting it isn't the stated postmark action. Start in My Orders, then dispatch in time. Before shipping, you can save the label or change the method when available through Return & Refund Record.
What Condition Must SHEIN Returns Be In?
SHEIN requires eligible returns to be new, unworn, unwashed, undamaged and unaltered, with original tags. The category requirements add these conditions:
- Clothing, including wedding/formal wear: keep applicable hygiene stickers intact.
- Human-hair wigs: keep tags attached; bleaching, cutting or other alterations can fail inspection.
- Shoes, bags and luggage: include original branded boxes and accessories; try shoes only on a soft, clean surface.
- Furniture: include original packaging, accessories, manuals and parts.
- Electronics: return unused, inactivated items in original packaging; erase personal information.
- Other categories: retain original packaging and tags; items must be unused, unaltered and unwashed.
- Bundles: return the complete set.
Warehouse inspection can reject ineligible items, reduce a refund for use, damage or missing components that SHEIN or the seller didn't cause, or award no refund for non-resalable goods.
Do you need the clear SHEIN bag to return an item?
SHEIN requests the original clear SKC/barcode bag if possible. Replacement outer packaging is allowed if the original is lost, damaged or too small. A missing branded shoe box is different: that box is specifically required.
Items SHEIN Won't Take Back
SHEIN's non-returnable list names bodysuits, lingerie, underwear, jewelry, accessories, cosmetics, pet products, clearance and other final-sale goods, and ties them to the non-return marking on the product page. Check that page for each item; don't assume an unlisted category is excluded.
Free gifts and customized items are also non-returnable, and customized orders can't be canceled under the policy. A customized item's quality problem can still be reported for review, as explained below.
Does SHEIN Charge for Returns?
SHEIN's first return of one or more eligible items from each order is ordinarily free with its QR code or label, subject to Fair Use. Additional returns from that order carry a refund deduction; self-return postage is paid directly by you.
SHEIN doesn't publish a complete per-parcel fee allocation for combined orders or a universal restocking fee—or a universal absence of one. Read the request's quote and any seller terms before submitting.
The fee for a second return: $6.99 or $7.99
SHEIN's Return Policy lists $6.99 for each additional return from the same order; an older SHEIN help answer still says $7.99. Both deduct the fee from the refund. Check the return-request page before submitting; group eligible items from one order into the first return where possible.
Example: Assume an eligible $40 refund, the first free return already used, SHEIN's label and no other deductions. The policy figure gives $40 − $6.99 = $33.01; the older help figure gives $40 − $7.99 = $32.01. Neither calculation guarantees your net refund; Fair Use is another possible trigger.
SHEIN's Fair Use Policy for frequent returners
SHEIN's Fair Use Policy can charge $6.99 per return for unusually high activity based on return frequency, number or value. SHEIN promises advance notification before you request a return and a reminder on the returns page.
Incorrect, defective or damaged items don't incur return shipping fees under Fair Use. Numeric thresholds and whether this fee replaces or stacks with an additional-return fee aren't published; use the account quote. Membership benefits don't establish an exemption.
Does SHEIN CLUB or VIP change the return rules?
SHEIN publishes no CLUB merchandise return-window extension; public VIP return privileges aren't specified, and tier benefits require sign-in. CLUB shipping coupons can't pay return postage.
CLUB membership cancellation is separate: within three weekdays of activation, the fee refund deducts used benefits; an unused membership can be canceled for a full fee refund during its term. Used memberships can't be canceled after that initial period.
How to Return a SHEIN Order
SHEIN's account return follows five steps. Allow about 10 minutes online as a planning estimate, plus a drop-off; the critical check is matching the requested items to the correct QR code or label.
- Open the order. Sign in to My Orders / Start Return, open Order Details, then select Return Item. Check that you've opened the correct order.
- Select items and reasons. Review every eligible item you intend to return before proceeding. Leaving one out can mean a later paid return.
- Choose a return method. Select an option actually offered for those items; don't assume every carrier or drop-off is available.
- Choose a refund method. Review original payment versus SHEIN Wallet before confirming; Wallet credit can't ordinarily be withdrawn.
- Submit, pack and dispatch. Match the items and QR code/label to the request, and use its return address. Never use the outbound sender address on the delivery bag. Check the request appears under Returns → Return & Refund Record; preserve mailing proof.
If an option is missing, use SHEIN Customer Service.
Happy Returns, USPS QR code or printed label
Only options shown on SHEIN's request page are available for your order.
| Option | Bring | Printer needed? | Shipping cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Happy Returns | Authorized items and QR code | No | First return ordinarily free, subject to Fair Use |
| USPS QR | Prepared return and QR code | No | Same first-return rule |
| USPS label | Prepared return with printed label | Yes | Same first-return rule |
US-issued labels and QR codes work only for returns within the US. Territory and remote-address coverage aren't published; confirm availability in the request. Home pickup isn't a published option; if no offered method works for you, ask Customer Service before paying for your own carrier.
If a QR code won't scan at drop-off, reopen the request in Return & Refund Record and use Change Return Method or a printed-label option if one is offered, as SHEIN help explains; otherwise contact Customer Service. The postmark deadline still applies.
Self-return and overweight parcels
SHEIN's self-return option lets you choose a carrier and pay upfront; oversized, overweight or remote-area returns may require it. The Return Policy says to request overweight-postage reimbursement after inspection passes, while a SHEIN help answer says once dispatched with proof of mailing. Keep the receipt and tracking, and ask Customer Service which trigger applies; reimbursement isn't promised when you buy postage.
The US Terms restrict returns to SHEIN-issued labels while the Return Policy lists QR and self-return; the Terms give applicable supplemental policy priority, so use only the method your request authorizes.
Combining several SHEIN orders in one parcel
SHEIN allows combined orders only when the portal offers that option. Help excludes different accounts, countries or warehouses, expired windows and non-returnable goods.
Free-return orders remain free; other orders incur label fees. Each order is refunded separately, with help describing 5–7 days after warehouse delivery/processing. That wording doesn't establish a total refund time or precise mixed-order fee allocation.
Marketplace Seller Items on SHEIN
SHEIN Distribution Corporation sells direct merchandise; marketplace purchases contract with the respective third-party seller under the US Terms. Seller windows can be shorter or longer than 30 days; check the listing and order history.
One marketplace listing on SHEIN's site disclosed a 15% restocking fee for non-defective returns, plus buyer-paid return shipping. That single listing doesn't establish a platform-wide fee. Gift-card refunds are limited to orders SHEIN sells itself, according to SHEIN help.
Readers using other marketplaces can compare seller-specific terms in the Amazon return guide.
When Will You Get Your SHEIN Refund?
SHEIN publishes stages rather than one guaranteed end-to-end refund total. The Return Policy table separates transit, warehouse inspection, issuance and the financial institution:
| Stage | Published time | Clock limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Shipment through return receipt | 5–7 days | One combined stage; day type unspecified |
| Warehouse quality inspection | 5–7 days | Day type unspecified |
| SHEIN issues refund | 1 day | Follows inspection |
| Bank/provider posting | Usually 1–10 business days | Method-specific exceptions below |
SHEIN's help answers describe processing more compactly as about 5–7 days after receipt. The pages word this differently; don't add the figures into a guaranteed total. Check the stage shown in Return & Refund Record or ask Customer Service.
The Refund Policy gives these method-stage times after return processing:
| Refund method | SHEIN processing | Financial institution posting |
|---|---|---|
| SHEIN Wallet | Within 1 hour | Not applicable |
| SHEIN gift card | Within 24 hours | Not applicable |
| Credit/debit card | Within 24 hours | 5–10 business days; sometimes up to 30 days |
| PayPal / Venmo | Within 24 hours | 2–5 business days |
| Afterpay | Within 24 hours | 1–2 business days |
| Zip | Within 24 hours | 1–3 business days |
| Cash App Pay | Within 24 hours | 2–10 business days |
| Affirm | Within 24 hours | 3–10 business days |
| Klarna | Within 24 hours | 5–7 business days; sometimes up to 14 days |
Ordinary returns don't refund original shipping. An expired-card refund still goes to that card; ask the issuer for help. An ARN (Acquirer Reference Number), when generated in refund details or email, helps the bank trace a missing refund.
Original payment or SHEIN Wallet: which should you choose?
Choose original payment if you need money back outside SHEIN. Wallet is faster at SHEIN's issuance stage, but choosing Wallet credit gives up a refund to the original or another payment method. Credit is usable on the issuing site and can't be cashed out except where law requires.
Example: Assume an approved $50 refund with no deductions. Wallet gives $50 of SHEIN credit; its one-hour stage follows inspection, and that credit can't be moved back to your card.

How CLUB rewards, points and coupons can reduce a refund
SHEIN's refund adjustments follow separate programs:
- CLUB Credit Rewards: rewards earned on returned goods are reversed. After outstanding rewards and unused promotional credits are eliminated, a remaining balance can reduce the refund $1 per $1 under CLUB terms.
- Bonus Points: redeemed points return proportionally unless expired; earned points are removed proportionally. An insufficient balance can become negative and offset future points, without a cash repayment obligation, under the Bonus Point Policy.
- Threshold coupons: a partial return can reclaim the discount if retained goods fall below the spending threshold; a lower multi-tier threshold can reclaim the tier difference. Retaining the original threshold avoids that adjustment under the Coupon Policy.
Coupon restoration is also unresolved: section 5(v) says a partial return doesn't restore the coupon, while section 6 says an unexpired coupon returns to Wallet when a refund adjustment occurs. Check your order's breakdown rather than assuming restoration. General sales-tax allocation isn't published, so these rules can't guarantee a net refund.
Can You Return to SHEIN Without a Receipt?
SHEIN's account return doesn't require a paper receipt. SHEIN help says packages contain no invoice or receipt, and the published process starts from the selected order in your signed-in account.
Gift receipts, recipient-only returns, ID/card lookup and returns without the ordering account aren't published alternatives. Ask the purchaser to start the return; otherwise contact Customer Service. A gift-recipient route can't be confirmed from these sources.
Can You Exchange a SHEIN Item?
SHEIN's pages word exchanges differently: the size-exchange FAQ says unavailable, another help answer permits restricted same-warehouse exchanges, and the US Terms mention exchange or refund on request.
If an exchange option appears on your order, use its item-specific terms. Otherwise, the documented route is to return eligible wrong-size goods for a refund and reorder. Replacement stock and price protection aren't promised.
Damaged, Faulty or Wrong SHEIN Items
Report faulty, damaged or incorrect items to SHEIN Customer Service. The Fair Use Policy exempts these items from its return shipping fees, but doesn't establish ordinary change-of-mind eligibility. Report promptly because the published clocks overlap.
Which deadline applies to a damaged SHEIN order?
SHEIN publishes three clocks with different starting events. Report a fault as soon as you find it. For transit loss or damage, claim within 14 days of actual or expected receipt; the general 90-day route doesn't override the shorter clocks.
| Situation | Required action and clock | Starts from | Official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transit loss or damage | Claim within 14 days | Actual or expected receipt | US Terms §5.4 |
| Electronics damaged/dead on arrival or failing without customer cause within 30 days | Contact immediately; postmark within 30 days | Delivery | Return Policy |
| General faulty/damaged items | Report within 90 days | Order date | Return Policy |
For validated transit claims, SHEIN can choose replacement or reimbursement of purchase price plus shipping, provided that shipping didn't also cover undamaged delivered items. Electronics require original packaging, manuals and parts; SHEIN can help contact the manufacturer about warranty support. Ask Customer Service which instructions apply before shipping.
Refunds without sending the item back
SHEIN may offer a returnless refund, but eligibility is discretionary and order-specific. Use the amount and options shown in your account. Customized-item quality problems can be reported with details for review; a returnless refund may be offered, never guaranteed.
Your rights beyond SHEIN's policy
The FTC Cooling-Off Rule excludes purchases made entirely online. It doesn't add a three-day cancellation right to an ordinary SHEIN online order.
For credit-card non-delivery, wrong or defective goods, FTC guidance advises calling the issuer immediately and sending a dispute letter that arrives within 60 days after the first bill showing the error was mailed. This separate payment-dispute route doesn't extend SHEIN's return window or guarantee a refund. This guide covers published SHEIN rules and federal guidance, not state law.
Return Policy of SHEIN: Mistakes That Cost You Money
- Splitting one order into returns: group eligible items into the first return where possible to avoid the additional-return fee.
- Using the wrong starting event: count the standard window from delivery and meet the postmark requirement; requesting alone isn't enough.
- Choosing Wallet when you need cash: review the irreversible destination choice before submitting.
- Using the sender address: send only to the address supplied with the return request.
- Ignoring coupon thresholds: check whether a partial return reclaims your discount.
- Waiting out “90 days” on transit damage: report immediately and follow the shorter applicable clock.

Questions shoppers ask
Can I change my return method or add items after submitting a SHEIN return?
SHEIN lets you manage a request through My Orders → Returns → Return & Refund Record → Details. Before shipping, modify items or use Change Return Method when available; otherwise cancel and reapply. Check the revised request and matching label before dispatching, as SHEIN help explains.
Does SHEIN refund the original shipping charge?
SHEIN doesn't refund original shipping on ordinary merchandise returns. A validated transit-loss or damage claim can instead include shipping reimbursement, provided that shipping didn't also cover undamaged delivered goods. The US Terms let SHEIN choose replacement or reimbursement, so report the problem before treating it as an ordinary return.
Can I use a SHEIN US return label from outside the United States?
SHEIN's US-issued return labels and QR codes work only for returns within the United States. The published sources don't define finer territory or remote-address coverage. Use the options shown on your return request and ask Customer Service about an unsupported address before paying for your own carrier.
Can I return something I bought at a SHEIN pop-up or physical store?
SHEIN's online policy doesn't establish return terms for physical-store or pop-up purchases. Ask for the purchase location's terms when buying and retain that information. Happy Returns and USPS are online-return drop-off options; their inclusion doesn't establish a SHEIN retail-counter return service. Customer Service can be asked about the purchase.
What happens if the SHEIN warehouse rejects my return?
SHEIN can reject ineligible goods, reduce a refund for customer-caused use, damage or missing components, or refund nothing for non-resalable items. Arrival damage is reported as a fault, not deducted as wear. Exceptions are discretionary. Review your account and contact Customer Service; rejection doesn't guarantee a returnless refund.
